On the subject of I'm bored, why don't we throw any parties around here? Like dance parties, music, food, people? Or spacewalks! Why aren't we going out and having some killer fun in space?

Unrelated, but do we have any metalworking equipment and scraps I could use? I literally have nothing but the clothes on my back, so I'd have to give out an IOU.

There's been a lot of crazy shit happening, not a lot of time or energy for partying. Plus a lot of people think it's in bad taste to have anything approaching fun around here even when things are quiet. But apparently we're having christmas in a couple weeks, so if you wanted to organize a party for that I bet Sally and Sirius would be all over it.

[ Her hand shifts like she's going to hang up, but remembers to add: ]

Yeah it is, sorry. There's a post just before yours today where they explain it some, but basically it's a holiday on most versions of Earth that I know of. You exchange presents with people and decorate stuff and celebrate generosity and togetherness and winter and things like that. Lots of baked goods and drinking, at least in my experience.

I agree on be-careful-with-the-boring bit, this place's idea of fun isn't very nice. BUT I was trying to set up a movie night for the youngest crowd a while back... except everybody got sick, so that fell through. And now there're a few fewer of us, I guess.

Anyway. I've heard the shuttles don't actually see much outside-the-ship action, but then again, somebody mentioned - to someone else, mind you, so I couldn't very well ask if that was a real risk - that if you go outside the ship, it might not let you back in, and that kind of perspective might might not be very welcome for a lot of people. For obvious reasons.

Celebrate boredom or at least spend your time productively. There is a library, a garden and various departments to visit if you're not scared of the murals and voices.

There is a forge, though I am not certain if it is currently in use; I may investigate that as well, for my own purposes.

Oh, it's all about the unity of the space stations that formed The Ark, about our wonderful peace. We only came together after the 13th station was blown out of the sky.

But mostly, it's about dressing up and telling the history. It was a little better on Earth. At least then we got free drinks.
