【video】► familiarity.

Someone has developed a rather inter▓▓ting taste in art of late. I find myself growing par▓▒al to them. So much more pleasant than the guts and severed parts ▒▒ people cobbled together that the dark̶̸͉̰̺̞̝̞̦̩̳̪̲̺͎̣̝͌ͦ͟͢͝ͅ▒▒░n seem to think passes as "art", in any ra░░.

( and just now catching on to the blips in her broadcast, sam's smile turns ironic. just as her image becomes slightly distorted by static. )

Intere▒▒ing, indeed. Tell me: is thi▐ ▓▓▓▓▓ usual occurrence? These malfu▒ctions. And the voices, am I the on▓▓ one who hears them, or is it just ▒▓ time come early?

A poll, then! All those who e▐ther see vi░░ons of this art in the▓r dreams or hear voices, say ▓▓ here. I'd like a full sense of the pic̶̸͉̰̺̞̝̞̦̩̳̪̲̺͎̣̝͌ͦ͟͢͝ͅ▒▒░.

( leaning forward, she taps her comm several times, and it seems to temporarily stabilise. )

Apologies for the gibberish.

The malfunctions were a problem a couple months ago when everyone got really sick, yeah, but they're not hugely common otherwise.

Have you seen some of the paintings recently?

I can tell you engineering puts in a lot of work to maintain it too. [since he works in engineering and all.]

Do you remember them well enough to describe them to me?

Hey love.

[William has been quite mopey these past few days when she's seen him at the Medical Bay, but he looks nearly like his normal self in the screen. Interested and concerned, certainly.]

We've had comms fuck up before, during the nanite crisis, when we was contaminated with another type of tiny shitfuck robot. I know you wasn't Medbay then but I don't know if you were on the ship before. Like the Stiles kid is telling you in that other video. We done a check, though, and the nanotech definitely ain't responsible this time, for sure. I've conveyed this to the head of Communications, who might be making an announcement shortly, I ain't sure. They're still trying to work it out.

Murals, we saw during recon as well. And there's some indication murals have been discovered previously too. Bunch of nightmarish depictions of monsters and black holes consuming people. Lots of reaching hands, too. It's been lovely.

[William's face looks sympathetic, the way that only someone who's slogged and wondered and worried for months himself, with unending and unanswered questions, can sympathize. Sucks, doesn't it.]

The reconaissance took place... four or so cycles ago. [William's brow furrows thoughtfully.] We been nursing a number of odd occurrences since then, which may or may not be related. [William quirks his mouth wryly.] As for a black hole-- uh. The other term for it is 'gravitational singularity.'

It's basically a point of infinite gravity, which we know about because they're formed when a star collapses. Gravity draws matter in, is what keeps people on planets. Simulations keep us right-side-up on the ship. With a black hole, the gravity don't fucking quit. It can pull and crush unimaginable fucking quantities of mass. Some believe that the greatest black holes are at the center of galaxies, giving shape to whole systems of planets and stars.

However, there've been some odd-- miniature versions found across the ship, historically.
