[He's a reasonable distance away when the video starts. Ichabod learns and remembers, and he knows he doesn't need to have his face so close to be seen.]
Good afternoon, Tranquility -- if it is truly afternoon. [That part muttered, because seriously, how can you tell.] Allow me to introduce myself, or re-introduce myself as it were. My name is Ichabod Crane. I was once a passenger on board this ship in the stars. My voyage was rather short, and I'd hoped that it would be the same this time. But that's no excuse to remain idle for however long my forced conscription may last. I recall there being a Security militia on board. I'm stating my intentions to rejoin it.
Thank you and good day - night. Oh, whatever.
[He reaches to end the video before thinking of something else that's been on his mind. Something that is, in truth, never far from it.]
As for a more personal query, I also recall there being witches here before. I wish to know more, especially if you're familiar with the name Katrina. Any news would be...most welcome.
[His voice softens at those last two words, the understatement that they are. Ichabod's jaw clenches briefly.]
It is more the truth that I would be eternally grateful.

She has a very similar accent. Only linguists can really tell the tiny differences that make her Imperian, rather than English.]
You left, and remember? [She's sitting on her bed, her cat in her lap.] Don't those memories usually end up erased?

[He sounds calm, and his accent is much less prominent than Crane's.]
I don't think I know of a Katrina Crane having been here at any point in the last few years. Would she go by any other name?
[There's no point in asking who she is when someone already has, publicly.]

HELLO AGAIN ICHABOD. WHY ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A WITCH?
[Because if he can get this conversation before it reaches Granny then it will go a lot better for the poor man.]

For so many years, my wife concealed the truth that she was one. I wish to know more, perhaps things she could not tell me.

her tone is soft, measured—and guarded, painstakingly devoid of whatever emotion she attaches to the subject on a personal level. )
I have magic, sir. As do many among the female line of my mother's family. We are descended from the river goddess Melusina, it is said.
Though I know your wife not, sadly. Would that I might reunite the pair of you. It does no good for a husband and wife to be parted. Is there aught else I might do to assist you?

Might I inquire of the nature of your magic? You're well within your rights to decline, of course.
