[ Kate feels as miserable as most aboard but at the moment looks on the better side, pale and flushed at once, dark circles beneath her eyes, but seemingly in possession of all her hair and limbs and minus any conspicuous growths. She's sat on a bed in the passenger quarters, comm propped on the bureau near her head as she looks into it. Her voice is thick and hoarse. ]

So whatever this is is clearly only getting worse. I know people have been testing the food and water and air and seem to be coming up empty, and the only other thing I can think of that we've all been exposed to is the stasis fluid. The gravcouches have all been drained, so unless anybody has a sample lying around to test... I'm thinking we go find where it comes from. If we can find the source maybe we can figure out if it's been tampered with or infected and how to cure this.

[ She pauses to clear her throat, fingers pressed against her neck. They're even paler than the rest of her, grey-ish in comparison, a sickly purple around the nail beds. ]

If anyone wants to help, let me know. The more the better. Especially if you know more about those parts of the ship. I don't have departmental access to anything and there's a lot of this shithole to search especially if we keep getting locked in the elevators trying to get anywhere. [ Or getting sidelined by hideous mutations and unbearable pain, but that goes without saying. ]

I feel like ass. [ She's very pale, but it isn't as if Kate hasn't seen her in person in the halls, being neighbors and all. Her state shouldn't be a surprise to her. ] But obviously the Brigade has to stick together, so count me in.

[ Darcy holds up her arm to display the OPR that comes before her numerical designation. ]

[ The feed cuts out briefly before she switches it over to a private channel. ]

[ It's a testament to how out of it she really is that it takes Kate a moment to adjust to the new channel and to remember who 'BJ' is. (It's what she's taken to calling him most of the time - that and 'JB' - but in her head he's still usually Bucky.) The confusion shows on her face for those seconds until she catches back up. ]

Yeah, he's in. [ Her smile tips into something sort of fond, and a little wry. ] He volunteered, of course. Why?

[ Gosh, Kate! Keep up! ]

Because! [ So put upon here. ] If I have to tromp around this shithole trying to find something that I don't even really know what it is, I at least want a nice ass to stare at.

[ Duh. Also, priorities. ]

[ Kate laughs, a sudden helpless bubble of it. It quickly turns into some combination of laugh and thick cough and she presses alarmingly grey fists to her chest and mouth. ]

Oh my god Darcy don't make me laugh I'm going to puke. [ Once she's caught her breath again she shakes her head some more, but grins. ] He does have a great ass. Never tell him I said that.

[ Darcy laughs, even if she is mildly horrified by just how bad Kate sounds when she does it. ]

Your secret is safe with me. I might tell him I said that, though. Do you think I have a shot? You know, if we're ever out of danger here.

[ Are you re-evaluating this friendship yet, Hawkeye? ]

You mean you haven't said it to him yet? I'm surprised.

[ Kate leans her head against the wall, and arches a brow at her, hesitating in uncertainty. ]

Iiiiiiii have no idea? I haven't really pinned down his type, I guess I just assume it's ridiculously badass super-spies or something.

I've poked around the Medbay some and there aren't any exposed pipes that I can see, so first step is whatever's directly above and below. And then we branch out from there I think. Do you have any friends in Medical? William's swamped with research and Aidan's gone.

I don't. But I'm not above going down to Medical and making some friends. [ That sounds like some serious mischief in the making. Does anyone take her seriously? ]
