Um, hi. I need to speak to Ward and Resnick if I may? I think I've completed a data collector, or will by the time the ship jumps again. Would it be possible for me to install it near the engines to collect data?

That might help us understand what is going on, from waking up here to the recent events. Or at least why so many people from different worlds are showing up here, and maybe even the disappearances.

What kind of data collector is this?

Um. For studying the engine while we go through a jump. I'm a physicist, and I've never had a chance to study something like this before.

Ah. You're a scientist slash doctor then, right? A physicist? So this collector will show you what the engine does when we make the jump?

What do you do with that information once you have it?

Figure out how it works, and maybe why we're here in this place, and maybe even get us back home.

What reason do you have for that location?

To study what happens when we jump.

As close to the engines I can get.

Yes. The engines produce a phenomena that I've been studying and didn't think that it was in the realm of practical, let alone possible. It was all theoretical until I woke up here.

What were you researching? [ Not that she knows but apparently humans take an interest in this kind of thing, and it may be useful? ]

Enstein-Rosen bridges, or wormholes. Basically getting from one point in space to another point without having to travel at sublight speed. Which would take forever in some cases.

Are you hoping to collect data on the ship or those that have been, or will be brought here?

The ship, and what happens when the engines do a jump. I've never had the chance to study something that makes a singularity before.

I daresay that many here have either. Perhaps those that are familiar with similar things may be able to help you compare the results to similar jumps from their worlds?

That would be awesome, if anyone else is familiar with Jumps and singularities and space.

I've heard of some mentioning space travel from their world. I don't have numbers but at least there is a place to start. I believe James Kirk was one of them?

I've seen him on the network. I think I spoke to him briefly, but I'll speak to him again.
