[She fiddles with the communicator, almost impatiently, until she finds out how to record and broadcast a video. And then it's recording and those that watch are greeted to a teenager and she's holed up somewhere that's hard to place.
Screw you all, she's not leaving herself open or anywhere you could hunt her down.]
I want to talk to someone called Elrond. About the woman Galadriel.
[That's it. That's the message.]

ooc: Continue to action, or switch to log?
video; encrypted 90%
(ooc:Up to you, I'm okay with either)
video; encrypted 90% -> action; why change a good thing...?
[ Yes, he'll be waiting for her. Video means that they both know who they're looking for, which would make things even easier. ]
[ When she shows up, he's bouncing on the balls of his feet. ]
Hey, there! How're you doing?
action; excellent point!
She smiles at him though when she makes it there, watching him quietly for a moment before answering.]
I'm alright, how are you?
no subject
I'm great! Well, great for this place, and that's what counts, right?
Ready to go? Holodeck's that way.
no subject
That's what counts, yes. And I'm always ready.
no subject
[ He motions down the corridor. ]
This way, if you please. Did you know those things - the holodecks, I mean - can show you what's outside the ship, too? I mean, it may be totally fake, of course, but it might not be. You can watch the stars and all.
no subject
Can it really? How can it do that? [Holodecks are completely outside her range of knowledge. Her father had taught her facts rather than fiction. Grimm's Fairy Tales were the exception and only because she had that left from her mother.]
... and sorry for another late. But I'm around more regularly now!
[ Stop him if he gets to technical, but Robin here can be a bit of a nerd... ]
It's a way to control light, creating pictures - including moving ones - out of light in the air. It's not real-real, but you can see stuff and all. Like video cameras and replay, only with holograms.
[ It's facts! Only slightly more advanced facts... ]
no worries!
My father taught me about cameras but I've only seen them once. [Pause.] Until now. Camera obscura, Latin for "dark chamber". It was first described by the Arabic scientist Ibn Alhazen in the year 1021.
\o/
What year was it, for you? I mean, because they're pretty common, where I'm from.
[ Yes, he nods, at the reference. He probably wouldn't have been able to recite it off the top of his head, but it has a familiar ring to it. Robins learn stuff. ]
[ And he starts to fiddle with the controls, even as he keeps on listening. ]

[She sounds unsure.] I grew up int he forest, papa and I only had the things we could gather and make ourselves. And a few things he brought with to the cabin like the encyclopedias.
[So she never saw much of anything until she'd left said forest. And everything in the world turned out to be much more interesting, complicated and sometimes frightening than she'd ever imagined.]
no subject
Because you're different? I mean, the living in the woods part.
no subject
[It was safer and off the grid. The last place Marissa and the CIA would ever have looked for Erik and for the survivor of a top-secret project.] I never minded it. I would have liked more though. Like music.

[ It's a fair question. She said she was a freak, and Robin knows people don't say such things about themselves without thinking them, knowing them. So her father could have taken her away from people to protect her, both from those who'd have wanted to use her, and from, well, people who're afraid of everyone different. If that's not the case, quite, well. So be it. ]
[ He can see that her father didn't leave her uneducated, and that's. That's probably the biggest factor in thinking she's okay. Because those who want to control other people tend to leave them underinformend, controlling the flow of data to shape the reactions of the person they're controlling, and, well. It's not what he's seeing, here. Just a father who tried to take care of his special daughter. ]
You can make a list, and I'll see what's available here on the ship.
[ Last couple of buttons pressed... ]
[ ... and they're standing on the floor which has gone invisible, dark, part of the sky and stars around them. ]
no subject
[That was definitely part of it. She had known that Marissa was searching for them, or had been, that she would kill them given the chance. It wasn't until just before she came to the ship that she learned the truth of just why they were hiding and why Marissa wanted at least Erik dead.]
I would but I don't know much of anything about music except what I was taught. [Reciting:] Music: a combination of sounds with a view to beauty of form and expression of emotion.
[That ends quickly though when the room changes. There's the fainted sound of awe from Hanna before she steps further in, eyes wide and curious.]
It's amazing...

[ He stands beside her, grinning, and then activates his computer to activate storage... and plays, quietly, The March of the Valkyries from it. ]
You tell me what it is, I try to help provide the details, so you can decide if you like it.

[Televisions had been complicated and the shower at the hotel in Morocco had been weird but she got the hang of those.
She breathes softly when the music starts.]
Thank you.
no subject
[ Misunderstanding is not a problem, and Robin gives no sign that he's upset or anything of the sort. In fact, he grins widely. ]
You're welcome.
[ Annnd he steps a little further, tilts his head all the way up, spreads his arms, and starts spinning slowly, among the stars. ]
no subject
[Hanna laughs softly as he starts spinning. It's actually the first time she's laughed in awhile. Not since she'd met Mister Grimm.]
no subject
[ He's got a bright, bright smile on, at the sound of her laughter. It's good to hear, good to know - good to know what kind of things make her laugh, too. And, well. Freedom is one of them. Good enough for Dick. ]
Well, this isn't really like weightlessness, but if you get dizzy enough, I guess it's somewhat similar?
no subject
It seems like it would feel the same.
no subject
Not quite. Even when you're really dizzy, you know where down is. You can just. Sit down and know you wouldn't hurt yourself or anything. Weightlessness? You've got no control. It's everywhere.
It can be fun. Or not so much.
no subject
I would like to try someday. It might be useful.
