[The feed begins with an attractive older woman sitting in a chair, her glasses on. She seems calm, collected, despite the relatively unfamiliar surroundings. When she speaks, it's with an ease of authority, looking just over the edges of her glasses. Bill's been grumping about the Network. Laura is, meanwhile, going to use it to her advantage.]
Hello. I am Laura Roslin, President of the 12 Colonies of Kobol, and the Colonial Fleet. I am to understand that, as of this last jump, I am no longer with them. [She doesn't want to think what Zarek is doing in her absence. Especially with Bill on board with her.] I, as I'm sure all of you who too have found themselves residing upon Tranquility, have many questions that I require answers to. Why are we here, what purpose this ship serves, amongst others.
Does this ship have any sort of command that I could speak with? The Captain, or perhaps a collective of all data you have garnered so far, after being pulled from your respective lives? And if any amongst you happen to be familiar with the Colonies, and the Galactica, my- [What were they?]- associate, Admiral William Adama and I will wish to speak with you privately.
Good day, ladies and gentlemen. [With a short nod, Laura cuts the feed.]

Shepard, formerly Commander of the SSV Normandy. I'm currently leading a number of other passengers on reconnaissance and technical scouting missions. I can send you a copy of the data we've collected if you or your associate want to take a look.
[A beat, brief but palpable. There's a flicker of irritation in the corner of her mouth.]
Unfortunately I don't think anyone's going to have any definitive answers for you, Madame President.
video;
Thank you, Commander Shepard. [She's still gonna be Commander.] We would both love to see it.
[Okay, no definitive answers? That was... irritating. A small frown tugs at her lips.] Ah... I see. How long have you been here, Commander?
permavideo;
I've been here since jump twenty-three. Has anyone given you a copy of Jones's primer packet?

[ And then there's whatever the hell Smiley is, and Resnik had been a prisoner... pain in the ass. ]
There's no one person in charge, but each department has a head. [ And this is the part where she has to introduce herself, she supposes. ] Carolyn Fry. Flight Crew. Been here since jump 008.
video;
What sort of unhelpful? [They could work with that, truth be told.
She listens, though, and nods, pausing only to take a few notes on the paper she had found- paper with four sides! Square corners! It was odd.]
Thank you, Carolyn. [She offers a small smile.] That is... quite a while, I'd imagine.
video;
[ She takes a moment to flick through the network, then sends through a link. ]
People had been having- well, let's call them 'dreams' -- where they were this crewmember before she appeared. When she did, she immediately tried to destroy the jump drive. She also seemed to have some memories of people on the ship, though typically incomplete, and no memories of others. Then she'd get confused, say what she was remembering wasn't correct.
[ Hope you really were looking for information dumps, Madame President. ]
You're an 032. Each jump is about one Earth month -- thirty days, give or take. [ So... yeah, it's been a while. Of course, Carolyn can't complain too much, not when she's dead back home. ] There are still a few people around from the 001 jump.

I'm Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan.
[Also a considerable number of royal titles, but he doesn't tend to use his full styling. The elected titles mean more to him anyway.]
The closest there is to someone in charge is the heads of individual departments. I am forwarding introductory material that outlines a lot of what we've been able to discerning. I'm afraid it's not as much as anyone would like.
Video
I'm afraid I've never heard of Alderaan, Senator. But, I'm appreciative. I will happily accept any and all information, and with any luck, we will be able to find out more.
What departments are there on-board?
Re: Video
There are three large divisions: Operations, Science and Security.
Within Operations, there is Communications. Officially we maintain the network and look after communications between ships. In practice we coordinate passengers to ensure that skills are being used appropriately. It also includes Flight, who maintain, repair and as needed fly the shuttles. The gunnery crew are in charge of the ship's armaments. Engineering ensures that the ship's mechanical systems continue running. And Ianto Jones has a supports staff who fill a variety of roles around the ship.
The Science division includes medical, which is quite self explanatory. There is also an agriculture department who maintain the oxygen gardens. If you have not seen those yet, I highly recommend them, they're quite spectacular even for people from spacefaring societies. Xenobiology and genetics are largely concerned with the occasions that we make planetfall. Finally, physical sciences covers everything else.
Finally, Security has no subdivisions. They are largely concerned with maintaining order on board, though in the event of an attack they are also the first line of defense.

I expect you've been informed already of the-- democratic approach taken, amongst those of us passengers and crew who live here now. I am Nuala Orgasnaithe, Queen of Bethmoora, and I act primarily as a liaison for the Xenobiology and Genetics department. I'm afraid we have few answers, but Xenogen dedicates the bulk of its time to exploring such questions as you've asked.
v i d e o
I have been, thank you, Your Highness. [From books, she's garnered that's the way to address a Queen.] You'll have to forgive me, as I have no idea where Bethmoora is, but then again, I doubt you know where Caprica is.
[Now... Xenobiology and genetics. That was interesting. And useful.] Do you? That is fascinating. [It isn't sarcastic at all. And no, that wasn't sarcasm.] I would love to see the department. Provided it's not off-limits, of course.
[It'll be strange, not having any sort of political power or weight. She can't force people here to recognize her authority. It'd be a little nice break. Without Baltar as president. Just in a democracy of displaced people.]

My name is Nathan Petrelli; I arrived here on the sixth jump, and I head the Communications department. At home, on Earth, I was a Senator myself, though you'll forgive me--I haven't introduced myself that way for more than a year.
You wanna talk about Captain Ward and the Tranquility's mission, then we should meet in person.
video;
Thank you, Senator- though I will call you anything you prefer.
[But finally someone gives her the Captain's name. Good.] Yes. I believe meeting would be for the best.

Okay, that was putting it lightly.
If it was someone like, say, Baltar...
No. She didn't want to think about that.]
Other than the Admiral and I, you are the first.

...Pretty sure this ship barely has a pilot let alone a captain.

From what I've been told, I've gathered that's largely true.
