I've been contacted by Ellie, here, who was advised by one of the Starks under my patronage to seek my aid in finding a cure for a virus that she acts as carrier for. I suspect that this best suits the three of you, more than myself - though I've offered to remain involved for the sake of it being done, evidently, in my name.
We may need to reach out to medical (I presume certainly after the fact, if not during), but if it's possible to handle this within our own department, that seems to be her preference.

I'm contacting you on behalf of my department; we've been entrusted with handling Ellie's virus cure and vaccination, but we are going to require facilities in which to quarantine her safely and comfortably while this is explored. It seems best that we coordinate with you, and I'll look forward to hearing from someone with whom to make arrangements.

As of this moment, I have no intention of involving medical, but will not hesitate to do so in the future, should the need arise.

We'd obviously rather she not leave it until we can be sure it's safe, but logistically we can hardly stop her if she wants to leave, and I suspect we'll be most successful if she does have the option of doing so. Therefore.

I sense getting her to stay locked up will prove difficult at best. But perhaps your approach will resonate with her.

With luck. I doubt we have the authority to force her without making it a matter for Security, and the girl came to us for our aid, not to be frightened and compelled.

If you could contact medical in seeing that she is quarantined comfortably, that might be a good first step.

I'll do so.

That said, quarantine is going to be a challenge.

I've offered to accompany her in. Perhaps if I don't ask her to do anything I'm unwilling to do myself...? I'm not sure she'll otherwise cooperate, and as she came to us of her own volition - I'm not sure we've jurisdiction to force her, were we even inclined to do so, and I'd very much prefer not to.

That is why I've put my faith in you.
All we need to first determine is the nature of the contagion and ensure it won't affect the rest of the population. She has been here for six jumps without report of any incident and so I am optimistic she will not have to be held.
She doesn't need to be informed of that possibility immediately, I would imagine.

[They haven't formally met and...an introduction seems prudent, even if it is over the network.]
Seeking out a long-term solution is wise, but I've been told by an occupant who has been on board for a significant amount of time and corroborated his account that the nanites implanted in us when we arrive tend to take care of us, to a certain extent (of course a long term solution is still best in case the nanites stop working.) I'm bringing this up for two reasons: first, it may grant Ellie some peace of mind. Secondly, there's a chance that if she returns to her home world, the nanites may reverse whatever we accomplish, although she may not remember she was ever here to begin with.
There's also a chance they could try to attack any antidote since it's a new agent being introduced to her system, but that's up to the rest of us to figure out.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further insight to share.

[She's a little girl kidnapped to space, after all.]
I believe any further insight I can provide will come after I can see some lab specimens, but I was going to do some further research on the nano-technolgoy regardless. I'll keep you updated if I find anything of importance.

Your support is greatly appreciated, and I'm looking forward to reviewing your work. I'll supply you with samples once I have them.
