OOC: Ah something lighthearted, just because. You can expect replies for both - they can go to Arthur or Merlin’s comms. Merlin is blue Arthur is red!
[There’s a shaky motion to the view on screen, Merlin is in view after he turns on Arthur's comm, smiles and happily documents the following:]
I know the last few days haven't been the best, but I thought you all might enjoy seeing what a typical morning in the life of a King is like.
[Shuffling sounds, and the soft cluttering noise as the comm is set down where everyone can see the bed, as well as Merlin. Arthur’s face is in view, half pressed into the pillow in peaceful slumber; audio includes a soft, royal snore.
Merlin then walks over to the foot of the bed, trills:]
Good morning sire!
[Arthur’s muffled grumbling heralds further irritable barely wakeful type noises as he makes a determined effort to ignore Merlin, turning to plant his face away from the camera and from the loud, offending servant-like voice - is it just that everything seems heightened, or is Merlin’s voice actually that annoying?
Merlin smiles wider, grabs the sheets at the bottom of Arthur's bed, and yanks them off with no warning.]
Let's have you lazy daisy!
[Well, it’s just as well Arthur at least wears trousers to bed, isn’t it? His head lifts from the pillow enough that he might send a poisonous glare in the direction of his manservant, which may or may not lose a measure of it's conviction from the fact Arthur’s hair is striking up in odd directions.].
Merlin. What the devil do you think you’re doing?
[It’s a low rage perhaps but no less infuriated. The only reason he hasn't thrown something is because the King is visibly still trying to cling to sleep, this is currently sit in protest. Or rather a lay in protest. His tone is a very marked warning.]

action; i have three icons to use for this :)
Come on, Arthur, it's bad for everyone. You're not getting anything accomplished moaning about in bed.
action; eyeing critically
Merlin. [Do let go of his arm.] If you wish my first accomplishment of the day to be your slow, agonising death, by all means continue.
action; sob except my account expired whoops (here have the icons anyway)
Ah yes, but in order to do that you would have to get out of bed, wouldn't you?
[merlin is cheery despite the day, gets a good firm hold of arthur's shoulders and starts to bodily drag him out of bed, since arthur elected to act like a spoiled brat instead.]
Don't worry, I'll help.
action; <3!
Of course it doesn’t. Does it? That would be the normal response.]
What on earth is wrong with you?! [His voice rather suddenly booms, no longer in a state where a passive response might leave him in peace. It's too late now and the act of being physically moved has Arthur start to struggle to wrench himself irritably out of Merlin’s hold. He may not have thought this through.]
action;
[merlin tightens his hold on arthur enough that the heightened sensory feedback of recent days sends a little prickling fissure up his arms, but arthur's not getting away from him.
he may look scrawny, but merlin's been hauling arthur's shite around for years now and he can handle a bit of a temper tantrum no problem.]
I'm merely doing my job, sire. [merlin's voice is deceptively earnest as he hauls arthur the rest of the way off the bed.] You are always complaining about my failures as a servant so I thought you would be pleased with my devotion.
Video
[He doesn't seemed impressed by that. Or surprised.]
Video
Don't be ridiculous, if I have to be awake then so does he.
Video
Video
Video
Video
Unfortunately, yes. Would that it wasn't the case.
Video
Video
Video
[He's still a bit of a dreamer, in the end]
Video
Some times all they need is a good push. [and then a little half smile] Out of bed.
Video
Someone should try that on our king.

[They tried. They really tried.]
video
This is hardly all hours, it's only ..the morning. Well, the equivalent of morning here.
[Are you arguing with a child? Well not arguing, explaining.]
video
video;
His tone his not one of mockery, nor is his expression, but rather in a state of something like curious admiration precociousness of the boy.]
I see, important business then?
video;
[Okay, that's not quite true]
Only half the things on the ship take care of themselves.
video
How rude to a daisy, never are they lazy.
video
Perhaps not the most apt comparison, no. I admit it was largely for the rhyme.
video
I suppose I cannot blame you for that though. It is interesting.
video
video
Must not laugh.
Must not-
Lúthien covers her mouth to muffle a light, musical, giggle.] Then that could well help in waking him.
video
video
video (wow you didn't see that)
video (Oh nooooooo, not a thing)
[She'll just watch. And laugh.]
video (it was totally merlin all along, yep)
video (totally, it was just a disguise)
video;
You'll find Merlin is often most impertinent, my lady. Especially to those least deserving.
[Yeah Merlin. Even flowers. There's a squinty-eyed glare sent in the direct of said, impertinent manservant.]
video;
He must be quite skilled then if you keep him in your service. Or perhaps you are attached to him?
video; he's not a snob, really
No. I fear he's actually as useless as he is ill-mannered. [Arthur offers bluntly and without hesitation, brushing a hand at his hair to smooth it some.] I'm certainly not attached to him [Lies. Terrible, lies Arthur. Yes it's because Merlin can still hear this.]
But, he is all I have left of home here. [Such reluctance, poor Arthur how difficult is his life.]
video; she can be though
I can understand that sentiment. Artanis is the only one I know from home and she is like a sister to me.
video; much polite
It does help to keep one sane. Despite how it might otherwise appear.
[Another brief side-eye gets sent toward Merlin, off screen. Arthur seems to have forgotten somewhat his disheveled state.]
And how are you fairing lately my lady? More than usual the corridors of this ship are an unpleasant place to be.
