voice (and text);
This is Shepard, formally Commander of the SSV Normandy. I've attached a written debrief on the results of the recon mission into the ship in addition to an updated schematic of the ship as it currently stands. I suggest any interested parties [and her tone seems to suggest that should mean all of you] take note and save a copy.
For anyone wondering: everyone still has their heads. Additionally we'll be running this again next month; if you want in, fill out the attached form. We need field operatives, people running communications and volunteers to help compile the gathered data into something useable for future jump cycles.
Shepard out.
[As promised, there are multiple attacked files. One is schematic of the area explored and while it's a significant chunk of space there's no denying that the uncharted territory surrounding it and the other known zones is potentially frighteningly large. There are a few markers on the schematic, the meaning of which quickly becomes evident to anyone reading the attached report:]
[In addition to the action report is a document attached with a simple form for anyone wanting to volunteer to run reconnaissance next month:]

I, [NAME], am aware of the physical and psychological danger I may be at risk for by running ops including but not limited to: hallucinations, loss of life or limb due to 'manticores' and/or other hostile personal, loss of life or limb via missing the jump etc.

AFTER ACTION REPORT
TQ RECONNAISSANCE, TRANQUILITY
MEMORANDUM FOR: All Tranquility Passengers
FROM: LCDR. L.Shepard
SUBJECT: After Action Report, 31 Jump Cycle Exploration and Reconnaissance
The following is information regarding:
- Deployed Location
- Duration of Site Survey
- Survey Findings
- Survey Evaluation: In support of.
Fireteams Agincourt, Hastings, Shasta, Nairobi and Perugia left known inhabited areas of the ship on Jump Cycle Day 6, 0800hrs equipped with: standard rations for eight days per operative, one (1) container of dyed fluid for manual location marking per, one (1) medical kit per fireteam, one (1) 3-dimensional mapping device per fireteam, ship network communication devices per op, one (1) magical communication device. Agincourt additionally carried radios acquired from mining colony Arima.
Within hours of entering unexplored hallways, all teams began to experience sense of moving downward. No physical evidence beyond sensation shared between all members across all fireteams. Territory unremarkable: multiple corridors explored, but no additional rooms discovered. From 0200 through 1400 on Jump Cycle Day 7, ships communication devices failed to transmit. Secondary communication not native to the ship's network continued to function normally until Jump Cycle Day 9 at which point both sets of secondary comms began to experience temporary outages and continued static.
In addition to communications outages, at 0930hrs on Day 9 Nairobi discovered a hole in the floor of a corridor (marker N1 on attached ship schematic). Hole appeared bottomless and attempts to illuminate it failed prior to anticipated range of flashlights. At 1200hrs on the same day Hastings discovered biological fluid (determined to be blood) and drag marks leading to a similar hole (marker H1).
Continued exploration into the ship resulted in heightened uneasiness and sensation of being watched. Multiple reports received of seeing movement in the darkness (similar to that experienced during Jump Cycle 26 and 27) in addition to hearing tapping noises of unknown origin which increased in frequency as exploration continued. Evidence of paint, notably red in coloration, reported on walls of corridors.
During this time, all fireteams experienced an increased inability to use their secondary communication devices. Reports infrequent and Communication Liaisons report multiple instances of inconsistency between fireteams' perceived time of report and actual time and date of report. In addition to inconsistent time keeping data, multiple reports received had been scrambled unintelligibly. As such, all further noted dates correspond to actual time and date of report as recorded by Liaisons or have been estimated to the best ability.
In accordance with recorded date of transmission, at approximately 0200 Jump Cycle Day 11 Shasta discovered an intact mural (marker S1) featuring what appeared to be a floating red face on a black field taking up the length of one corridor wall. At approx. 1330 of the same day Perugia located a secondary mural (marker P1) across a set of doors featuring a white figure falling or being pulled into what appeared to be a black hole. At approx. 1800, Nairobi discovered a black hole singularity (marker N2) hanging in midair in an unexplored corridor. Singularity did not appear to affect the surrounding corridor, however fireteam field operatives began to experience a pulling sensation when approaching within two meters of the black hole.
At approx. 0450 Jump Cycle Day 12 Agincourt discovered a large hole (marker A1). Said hole blocked the corridor completely, extending beyond the walls and ceiling. As with markers N1 and H1, chasm appeared to be bottomless and negated light shone into it. The corridor continued from the other side of the hole, but width of chasm caused it to be impassable.
As of Jump Cycle Day 13 no further reports could be transmitted using the secondary communication devices. Unable to determine date or time, fireteams began to work their way back toward inhabitable areas utilizing data from onboard cartography equipment. Despite seemingly functional equipment in addition to physical marking of corridor intersections, the return paths appeared to be inconsistent to all fireteams's previous experience. During this time, fireteams experience an increase in both the regularity of the tapping sounds (constant) and the appearance of movements in the corridors. Field operatives on multiple fireteams have reported clearly seeing a tall, bent figure. Attempts to pursue said figure were unsuccessful.
Fireteasm Shasta and Agincourt both report finding huge rooms (markers S2 and A2 respectively). Both rooms appeared to be empty except for large murals covering the ceiling. S2 depicted large creatures hunting what appeared to be populations of planets. A2 depicted a large battlefield though the fighting seemed to lack any notable organization of forces. Perugia and Hastings and Nairobi discovered additional murals in corridors (P2, H2, N2). P2 depicted a fallen female figure surrounded by reaching hands. H2 depicted a block figure with a thin neck and multiple heads with red eyes. N2 depicted a red head and hands being pulled into a black hole.
On Jump Cycle Day 19 all fireteams with the exception of Agincourt turned corners and discovered they had returned to the inhabited areas of the ship. Agincourt discovered an open door at the end of a corridor (A3). The door appeared to open to a brightly lit room however Agincourt was unable to reach it before it closed. On arrival at what appeared to be the location of the door, Agincourt instead arrived in a lit, inhabited corridor. Shasta, Perugia and Nairobi returned in corridors near the stern of the ship. Agincourt and Hastings's returned to locations near the bow.
It is notable that though all operatives carried only eight days worth of rations and spent thirteen consecutive days in the ship, no operative reported to have suffered from malnutrition.
Findings of exploration and reconnaissance mission seem to suggest fundamental instability in the temporal and structural integrity of the ship. It is this officer's belief that further exploration of noted markers (of particular note: N1, H1, N2, A1) are beneficial to not only the understanding of the environment but to the continued survival of the passenger population at large. Unknown areas of the ship not only house structure damage potentially hazardous to the continued operation of the ship, but may additionally harbor hostile life forms.
Defensive maneuvering without definitive terrain mapping is unordered at best, completely ineffectual at worst. Despite the home and comfort of routine that many passengers have made for themselves aboard the Tranquility, it is this officer's belief that it is more accurate to consider the ship in its entirety as hostile territory until thoroughly explored and documented.

It's not my ideal either but I also don't have a locker overflowing with concentrated nutrition packets. If you have a better idea for next time, I'm taking notes.

not a hole in the ceiling

[But the door she can speak confidently about.]
As for the door we saw it from the opposite end of a long corridor. It's dark down there so we noticed it immediately. I couldn't make out anything except for the light and by the time we'd reached that end of the corridor the room was gone.
[And while she has a long list of theories, they're not something she's going to volunteer over the comm.]

Applicable Skills: Enchanted cartography, including maps that change to mirror changes to the locations they represent. I doubt any of the methods I'm familiar with would work as-is, and some people here before me may have already tried, but I could puzzle over potential modifications while helping compile data, if you still need hands there.
Plus various and sundry magic.
I can't go along, unfortunately, but consider me duly informed of the danger I would be in if I could.

If I put you in contact with another magic user working on this would that be at all useful to you?

Previous Occupation: College student
Applicable Skills: I know how to turn on and operate a computer, good organization skills, I've fired a gun before in my life but I wouldn't say I've had firearms training. Surprisingly durable.
[ Somehow listing bake skills and the ability to rock a mean poster don't strike Claire as being applicable. ]
I, Claire Bennet, am aware of the physical and psychological danger I may be at risk for by running ops including but not limited to: hallucinations, loss of life or limb due to 'manticores' and/or other hostile personal, loss of life or limb via missing the jump etc.
I know that going out there in the field probably isn't going to fly for someone who doesn't have actual background in that sort of thing, at least not extensively, but I want to help, and if I can work my way up to that, I'll do it.
text;
I could definitely use another Communications Liaison if you're willing to do the work. It consists of taking and transcribing hourly reports from field operatives (as allowed by the ship's communication dead zones).
If you're interested in doing field work in the future, I'd recommend contacting Jax Teller for lessons at the gun range. Anyone going into the field is required to carry and know how to operate a (preferably long range) weapon or have an acceptable substitute (magic, biotic abilities, etc).
