Sweet Tranquility;

Your company is requested on a perilous journey! one that songs would have been written on if we had a bard or a poet in our company.

it is an important mission; to go to the heart of the gardens and pick berries.

the necessary equipment is as follows;

- baskets

- a song to sing for the walk would be quite long.

- a mood which would suit such a task as berry picking.

I shall be most grateful to have your company.

Lucrezia Borgia;

I would enjoy that. I shall meet you at the entrance, then.

[ It's not that far from where she'd been patrolling, anyway. ]

[ Bare feet and long hair, and a personality as bright as the stars themselves.

Lucrezia Borgia is born of Men, but Tauriel thinks her a good fit among the Elves. It's impossible not to smile in return. She moves, taking the offered arm.
]

You kept me waiting not at all. You seem in fine spirits, lady Lucrezia. Is it a happy day?

[ Not many Elves could say that they had walked with one like Lucrezia. Tauriel has never met anyone like her. Good and cheerful humour seems to come to her with an enviable ease. ]

Elves favour natural places. In Mirkwood, my home, we live among the trees. The gardens bring much comfort to me in this world of metal and glass. I would not like it at all, if not for this place.

Do you not find it comforting, Lady Lucrezia, to breathe this air and hear the sounds of nature?

[ That sounds peaceful. It makes Tauriel smile, and she imagines at once a garden filled with sunlight.

That vision is as far removed from Mirkwood as is this place.
]

It is dark there. The trees are heavy - and, at present, they sicken. Once it was called the Greenwood. Perhaps one day it will be again.

Will you tell me more of this Vatican, your home? Is it a city?

The name seemed wrong, for it was no longer green. But my people have long memories, and names are sometimes fleeting things. Perhaps some day, it shall change again.

[ She hopes so, for such a change would mean that the trees no longer sickened, and the shadow had been cleansed.

But that time is not at hand, so Mirkwood the forest remains.
]

Then this Pope of yours, he is something like a King? A King ruled by other kings. [ She looks uncertain here, thinking the idea of that sounds awkward. She cannot imagine Thranduil taking well to orders from another king. ]

I pray for the same, my lady, and I thank you.

I do not think that there is such a person as that, in Middle Earth. [ Unless the wizards count. Mithrandir would have the ear of kings, but she does not believe he could appoint them. ] Your religion seems very dear to your heart. Your love for your God, it is written in all that you do.
