I have never met the lady Luthien but if the Elvenking finds her charming and eloquent then I do trust I must introduce myself. The one I speak of is Tauriel. Your guard; she has shown me great kindness.

[Tauriel is an oddity in his life. Knowing her has been like discovering a daughter he never knew he had: awkward and full of misplaced guilt. He doesn't know her, but she certainly knows him. He wants to make up for it, to learn everything about her so he can pick up where her Thranduil left off, but where to even begin?

The kin of my kin, you might say. She and I dwelt in the same kingdom of old, and she was the daughter of our king and queen, and the fairest creature ever to be brought into the world. We loved her dearly.

Is she more fair than the Lady Galadriel? I have never thought any lady able of competing with her in beauty.
