bonnie bennett is done being pushed around ([personal profile] unbalancer) wrote in [community profile] ataraxion2014-03-14 10:15 pm

[ Bonnie Bennett has spent the better part of the last few days in Caroline's room. Between her Elena issues and general wariness of the ship at large, this makes her feel more comfortable. All she has in her room is herself, her thoughts. She doesn't know how big this ship is. All she knows is Klaus is on board. He murdered yet someone else her friend cared about - even if she hasn't lived through that yet. She has no reason to call him out, nor does she have reason to bring attention to herself. Text is safest. She has no idea if Klaus pays attention to the network. She's going to ask simple questions. She can handle herself. One leg dangling off of Caroline's bed, she types out a message. ]

Has anyone had to deal with someone they'd rather avoid being on the ship? How public are our room numbers? Is there a way of filtering what you want to say? Locking someone out? Or, do you stick to in person interaction?

An otherworldly entity or creative remnant of the original crew, perhaps, possesses information and power, types in the color red and often ends broadcasts with a smile emoticon :) [ THE ONLY TIME HE WILL EVERY USE AN EMOTICON, alas. ] He/she/it frequently taunts passengers, though it has been known to assist us in some capacity. Some passengers believe it responsible for "space crazy." [ that's the technical term. ]

[ he did his research. ] The crowds here are more equipped for crisis than most, at least. Still, if the threat is so great, you might benefit from negotiations.

If I could explain it, I would.

And if that's your conclusion, your offer wasn't strong enough.

It certainly seems to cause similar mental effects.

That's unfortunate, but I hope you booth keep the ship's system of justice in mind. You may do yourself harm if you act rashly.

[ he sighs. yes, rash is the correct word. he only hopes they aren't so foolish as to address his brother this way. ]

I had my suspicions.

None of our associates are particularly moral. I only mentioned the justice system because it has more sway here. The officials are quite aware of the many abilities passengers possess, and appear more than capable of adequate action, particularly in such limited space. Our actions carry more consequences here. That's a fact, not some noble implication.

[ he has no reason to hide. ]

Yes, but don't feel obligated to reveal your identity.

[ half sincere, half sarcastic. it doesn't make much of a difference to him, but it's r u d e. ]

That's unnecessary. Process of elimination makes the solution simple.

[ he already spoke to elena and caroline about this. tyler has distinctive speech patterns (and prone to action over discussion). katerina trusts him (relatively). jenna is out of commission. elena would have mentioned jeremy's arrival. and he'll eat his tie if it's alaric saltzman. it's not his style.

it's bonnie bennett or matt donovan, likely the former.

however, he won't say her name -- in the spirit of secrecy. ]

How would you like to proceed?

If I thought you would stand down in return, I would agree. Unfortunately, our trust has been mutually destroyed.

[ he betrayed elena in the sacrifice; she betrayed him at the ball. her family is dead as a result; his family is dead as a result. ]

Then you do not recall the return of my mother and later deaths of my brothers. Understandable on the part of those responsible but no less unpleasant. It's nothing personal, I assure you, but I have been fooled too many times to promise an act against my only remaining brother or to risk promises of certain gravitas. Perhaps more importantly, I love Niklaus and Rebekah. At this point our lives, we have a unique opportunity to be whole again -- away from Mystic Falls. With that in mind, I won't see my family harmed for the world, let alone the ship.

I offer prevention and intervention, nothing more.

[ well, that was an unexpected response, difficult to gauge. he shouldn't have been so rash -- even on the subject of his family. ]

Then I apologize for burdening you with knowledge of the future. [ because it is a burden, not a gift. he does not share such harsh truths with his siblings. it would be selfish to do so. ] I should have exercised as much caution with you as I did with my siblings. Please don't inform them of this, if not for their sake, for your own.

Hopefully, it serves to contextualize my choices.

I believe I said that your choices were understandable, the same as I consider my own.

[ briefly, he thinks of Bonnie's mother — another casualty. ]

I didn't either, but I appreciate the sentiment.

I hope so.

For now, keep in mind my previous offer: I will prevent conflict and intervene to the best of my ability. Do not hesitate to contact me if you are in need, particularly if my family is involved.
