[ caroline's more than a little bit alarmed and she just got a goodbye message from elena, sort of. so cue a desperate friend pleading to the network after watching all the messages from people trapped in the bridge.]

Can't anyone do something? They're dying in there. The jump is soon and if they're trapped... [ they're going to die. like actually die.] Please there has to be something we can do.

[ stiles swallows. ]

I'm half way between the bridge and the pods. I don't know what to do right now. I don't want to leave them but if I don't go... [ she's going to die too.]

[ stiles' voice is rough with exhaustion, but it's gentle. ]

Head to medbay, okay? I can meet you there if you want.

How are we suppose to just leave them there?

[ he sounds jittery, on edge. ]

[ stiles winces. okay, so he has the advantage of not having his family or best friends in there, and he knows what he'd be like if he did. ]

There are people who are gonna keep at it until the last possible minute, okay. But it doesn't have to be you. The sirens are going off, Caroline, don't make me come get you.

[ which isn't actually just a threat, he's already pulling his shoes back on. ]

No, stay. [ why is everyone threatening to come get her, gosh.] I'll be there. I'm not going to let myself die too. [ being a martyr in this situation won't help one bit.] Don't go all caveman, throw me over your shoulder.

And you know why? Because they're going to make it to a pod in time. And... even if they don't, I mean, don't people say the captain or whoever used to never show up during jumps? Maybe the bridge is reinforced, or whatever.

[ she looks less panicked but... a tiny bit skeptical.] I'd never heard that... about the captain.... And you're not just saying that?

We are trying. If we can prevent it, we will not leave them in there. Be assured of that.

There's got to be a way, seriously, we can't just leave them.

[ But there is clear worry on her face, despite her apparent calm. ]

But the door remains closed, despite all of our efforts. If there is no way to disturb that lock, what can we do?

I don't know! Something, anything but just letting them die.

I do not wish for any to die, where there is no need.

Yet there may be no help for it. For all that I want to help them, our best efforts have thus far proved naught.

Th-Thank you. [ she lets out a sigh.] I'm sorry, its just my best friend is in there. And I have other friends in there too.

[ She hesitates. Her voice becomes more quiet, taking on a note of sympathy. ]

Have you been unable to contact them since the doors closed? I know that the messages coming through are...imperfect, at best.

Not since the last message but yeah, they had been able to talk to other people.

Then you should send a message, and say all that you would wish to say.

[ It's not advice she particularly wants to give, but as time goes on, the likelihood of them being able to help gets less and less. It's best to be prepared. ]

We will not stop trying to help them, but you should take the opportunity while it is still before you. Leave nothing unsaid.

[ yes and he's pretty upset about that, which is why he thinks standing around crazy eyes trying to will the bridge open is actually going to do something. ]

Just, [ uh oh, he voice softens out of that pissy tone he was using a minute ago. never a good sign. ] Make sure you do. She'd never forgive either of us.

[ and she sounds kinder too.] Same goes for you, Damon. [ elena made her promise to look after damon.]

Fifteen minutes. I can make there in less than that.

[ that's all he'll give you, barbie. ]
