[When Ianto appears on screen, it should be apparent to anyone who's familiar with the recent rash of attack victims that he's the latest. He's slumped against the wall, looking much the worse for wear, with an expression on his face that speaks of imminent panic.]

Has anyone seen Jack Harkness? I was attacked, and he-- [He has to pause, his voice failing him momentarily. He's too weak to be expending this much energy worrying.] He was right down the hall. He would have come looking for me, but he isn't here and he isn't responding.

Jack, if you're seeing this, please, please respond.

[He slides further down the wall, exhausted, and winces as the fabric of his jumpsuit brushes against the wound on his chest.]

I'm-- No, I'm not, but I don't think I'm in any immediate danger.

Please, have you seen Jack?

[Does she even know Jack? It occurs to Ianto that he hasn't introduced them yet.]

I'm -- I don't know, Ianto. What does he look like?

[Ianto swallows, trying to summon energy he doesn't have to think and speak clearly]

He's about my height, short brown hair, blue eyes, cleft in his chin. He's wearing a captain's RAF coat over a blue shirt with red braces-- suspenders.

I'll be okay, Roxanne, but he-- he wouldn't leave me here like this. Something's wrong.

I haven't seen anyone of that description today, I'm...I'm really sorry.

[Pause.]

Where are you?

[Ianto looks pained at the news, but he hadn't been expecting a miracle.]

I'm in my room. I was coming back for my communicator. Something...I think something hit me from behind. I don't know what happened.

This isn't the first I've heard of someone being attacked. Ariadne was as well.

[Rubs her face.]

It seems that whatever it is, it's making its rounds.

I know. We were coming to help investigate...

[He braces himself and struggles to get up, but fails, slumping back down. Even that small effort is tiring.]

Fuck, I need to get to the door...

...You really should be checked out by medical. If you were hit in the head, you might have a concussion.

I don't think it was my head. Felt like my back.

[He peels back his torn jumpsuit to reveal a wound like the other attack victims.]

And apparently my front.

Rory! I'm in my room. Have you seen Jack?

[He sounds drained, like he's fighting to remain awake and coherent]

[That -- looks like the wounds everyone else is recieving.]

Do -- you need anything?

No. He hasn't been brought in.

Look, I'm coming now, alright.

[It better be alright because Rory is running from the MedBay to Ianto's room]

[There are a few quiet moments as he tries to think]

...I need to get to the door. No one can get in unless I open it. Rory's coming to bring me to the medbay, I think.

Can you keep an eye out for Jack?

[He sounds completely miserable, like he's sure there'll be no sign, but he's hoping anyway.]

[coffeeking]

...Alright.

[With renewed determination, Ianto manages to drag himself to the door. By the time he reaches the threshold and opens it from the inside, he's completely spent. Unconcerned with appearances, he allows himself to collapse in the doorway, keeping it open. God, why does he feel like this? What the hell happened to him?]

[ALARM!!!]

Oh-oh god. Uh, no, but I can go look for him? Uh, what happened?

[Tavros immediately assumes it was Bec Noir]

Tavros...be careful. There's something on the ship attacking people. If you look for him, don't go alone.

[One thing about Auton's is they don't get winded during a sprint to save a friend. Rory's right at Ianto's side before long whispering assurances as he slowly goes to open Ianto's top]

I need to check...Damn.

[Just like the others]

Ianto, what do you remember?

[He's pulling out a hypospray full of painkiller while trying to keep Ianto talking]

[Ianto does his best to be cooperative, but he's more concerned for Jack than he is for himself. As much as he knows he needs treatment, he wishes everyone would stop paying attention to him and go find Jack.]

Jack and I were coming to help investigate the attacks... I left my communicator. Jack waited by the lifts and I came back to fetch it. I was at the door and something-- I think something hit me in the back. [He struggles to recall more, brow furrowed, but gives up with a helpless shake of his head] I woke up in the room, on the floor. Jack would have come looking for me when I didn't head right back to the lifts. Something happened to him, Rory. He's not answering his communicator...

O-okay. Is this the same thing, maybe, that Cave Johnson warned us about?

[coffeeking]

[Ianto swallows, trying to keep his head from lolling to the side]

Yeah. I have the same injury on my chest as the others.

[peanutblooder]

Um. Ianto, there is not a nice way to say this, but, uh, you look really bad. Did you go to the Med bay?

[coffeeking]

I can't get there on my own. Rory's coming.

[peanutblooder]

Oh god. Okay. Um. I'm in my room, I can come help? I, uh, have wheels, will travel?
