TWENTY: video
[It's been a while since she did one of these, and maybe it's past due. There are certain aspects of the current situation that make her want to avoid it, but some of those same aspects have made it clear she needs to reestablish security's presence. As it is, she looks calm if not particularly friendly, and her voice stays level and certain, uninterested in messing around.]
My name is Tyke. I'm head of SEC here - that's security, any of you new arrivals. The SEC team are here to try and keep you safe, because this ship is going to try and kill you.
Got three basic rules we need you to stick to, make that job easier: You don't steal or damage each other's belongings or the ship, you don't assault each other, and you don't kill each other. We have a brig, we will enforce any infractions. Punishment is decided case-by-case. Do not start asking me about law. Look around you, think about whether whatever law system you're used to would work here, then shut the fuck up about it.
If you've got any fighting, military or law enforcement background, anything similar we could use your skills on our team. You can contact me or Miles Edgeworth about recruitment. You don't have any of that experience and still wanna sign up, we can train you.
Don't go out into the unlit corridors. Don't engage in discussion with the red text called "Smiley". This ship is going to try and kill you, or fuck with your head, and those are two ways to speed it right the fuck up.
[There's a pause, slightly more of a frown on her features for a moment, the more current problem to address.]
Right now we're experiencing unexplained climate fluctuations. I've been informed Engineering is too hot to access, but Medbay's still chilled. The temperatures in the passenger quarters seem to be shifting at random, so updates on any other areas changing would be appreciated.
Til we figure it out, just stay alert of the environment around yourself. Stay hydrated, avoid overexertion in heated areas, stay wrapped up in cooler places. If somewhere gets too uncomfortable, listen to your body and move. Last thing we need is the fucking weather catching any of us out.

So I know running security's probably keeping you busy -- [not that Booker knows her personally, but he'd still bet his money on it] -- so I don't really expect for you to put this on the top of your priority list.
[With that out of the way:]
I'd like to request some training with firearms, if anyone's got time and feeling inclined to teach. I'm familiar with what I brought with me when I arrived here; but I've got a strong feeling that my equipment's a little... outdated compared to what most people are workin' with.
[He's from 1912. He figures guns have had to evolved somewhat since then -- and he'd feel more comforting knowing how they did, and what changes he can expect if he ever needs to use one.]
video;
We get that more than you'd expect. Swords, usually.
[Though she won't actually criticise the use of a sword in certain situations.]
Gunnery are running firearms training. I can talk to them, get them to give you some time.

You are one of the guards here.
In my home, that is my role. Well met, Captain - my name is Tauriel. Tell me, what is the red text? Is it the voice of the ship?
no subject
[Because 'captain' is a pretty loaded title around here.]
He won't tell us who he is. Pretty sure he talks about the ship like something separate, but he's crazy, so who knows.

Hello, Tyke, I'm Elena Gilbert. I've got some experience with fighting, and I have some... abilities that would be useful in security, I think.
