[ spike turns to his ~companion~ as he regretfully pulls his shirt on. it’s a beautiful tropic day in the gardens and he was intending to enjoy it, but maybe he and pete should say their hello-again’s to the community at large. ]

You know what I could really go for right about now? Jammy dodgers. Been dreaming about them all month…

That's the first thing you're gonna say? [ peter glances over, undoing the leash on izzie's collar. ] - Actually, I'm not even a little surprised that it's food you want to tell the network about.

[ sigh. ] Nothing I dreamed about had anything to do with food. Could've used a few less nightmares, but now I just want to know what's up with my dog.

[ spike shoots peter a look before immediately stooping down to greet said dog, patting her head and pretending her dad didn’t just say a really rude thing!! ] Isabelle, darling, don’t listen to him, huh? [ though upon closer inspection… she looked a little more rotund than usual, maybe. grumpier, slower. he glanced back up. ]

What has your brother been feeding her? [ he asks sharply, hands over the lab’s ears so she couldn’t hear them talk about how fat she was. that was before he picked one ear up and spoke into it for dramatic effect. ] He gave you all the jammy dodgers, didn’t he?

[ izzie groaned, and spike stood up. it was a puzzle though, to be sure. ]

I'm not even sure Nathan knows what those are, Spike. Besides, he wouldn't share them even if he did. [ he shoots the camera a look, then stares a little longer before looking back at spike, leaving izzie to her unpleasant sounds for a moment. ]

You're sure that's all you dreamed about? Anything else? [ network, tell him he wasn't the only one please. ] Or are cookies really all you've got to say for yourself?

Are you sure that's appropriate for the network, Peter... [ yeah, he's just looking to get slapped at this point. ] Alright, alright. So I had nightmares too. Sometimes the biscuits sprang to life, with little angry-faces like and chased me around the ship.

[ he's definitely getting hit the second the feed goes off. ]

[ peter shrugs, but that's not to say that he really wants spike there, even if it'd just be for moral support. that'd be more than asking for problems. besides, some things are meant to be kept between brothers. ] But, yeah. I appreciate it.

[ another nod. ] You see Claire yet?

[askedtobe]

[ aaaand a slow headshake. ] Didn't actually see Nathan either.

[ spike are you trying to give him a heart attack. ]

[ he's been having heart attacks all day about this shit, okay. ]

I left her a message, but usually your brother has his little coffee set-up, doesn't he? Didn't see it this time.

[ his grip on izzie's collar just tightened ten fold. ]

Maybe he just didn't have time.

Yeah, I'm sure he's still about, Pete. Don't... Try not to worry, alright? Not until you talk to him. [ another light touch to peter's arm, he really wasn't trying to make this more difficult. his own panic was just bleeding over into everything. ]

[ peter exhales hard, sidling up alongside of spike and almost leaning into him. actually doing so would knock their stride off balance, but the point's still made. ]

I'll kill him myself if he went home. [ see? he's trying to have a sense of humor about... all of this. ]

I'd kill you first. [ he quipped, knocking his shoulder into peter's affectionately. ]

[ SNORT. ] Coming from you that's hard to believe. [ still teasing, just because he can. ]

What are you, calling me a liar? [ there's a grin threatening to break throw, weaving into Peter's space as they walk. ]

Not a liar, just- [ peter's words dwindle off into nothing before he shrugs, like that's going to fill in the spaces or something, purposefully knocking into spike. ] Just really good at exaggerating.

[allbloodyhail]

[ he leans in a little more, steps starting to slow. ] I've had a lot of experience.

[ that is the worst come-on spike, and peter could take that so many horrible ways... but somehow he just barely manages to refrain from rolling his eyes. he does shrug rather slowly though, attempting to be nonplussed as he pushes back. ]

I don't know- it's not like you ever pulled out a ruler. [ this is what you have done spike. ] Or are you exaggerating when it comes to something else?

[allbloodyhail]

[ both eyebrows raise, but he's trying so hard not to grin. ]

We could break out a ruler of you wanted...

[ okay he can't help himself anymore. he leans over and kisses the side of peter's mouth before he's back to walking. ] Technicalities.

[ peter laughs for only a second, catching up quick and almost clipping spike's heels. just because he can. ] What, are you gonna draw one?

You were the one who brought it up.

[askedtobe]

Only because you brought up exaggerating. [ don't walk that fast spike, peter's going to lean over and press his nose to your cheek. ] There something else you meant?

[allbloodyhail]

[ but that just makes him want to nuzzle against you-- akhdkjhdj not fair. ]

[ especially since he dips back away, shoving his hands into his pockets. ]
