[ When the video flickers into focus, Bells' face is relatively well-lit compared to some of the other times he's used the network. His expression is a bit lax. ]
Hey, so. Uh. Been a while, I guess. Name's Bells in case anyone was wondering. [ Probably not, so he moves on pretty quick. ] I get that a lot of shit's happened recently, and yeah, it sucks. But it's not like we have control over that kinda stuff, right? I mean, we can't really order around the guys who think they're running this boat. We just take it, and bitch about it after it's all over.
...here's the thing though. [ And the feed draws in a little closer toward him when he moves it, mouth twisted down into a frown. ] There are some things we can.
Like, uh, I dunno. The fact that some of us aren't human and some of you are. Didn't think it was a thing until-- [ He shrugs. ] Point is, we don't have to do this whole trust, no-trust thing. We're supposed to help each other, not try to kill someone because they're different or you're too damn stubborn to ask for help when you've got a problem you can't figure out on your own.
Is that what friends do for each other? [ The frown is deeper now, and he's quiet for a while, dropping his gaze to the side for a second as he tries to figure out what else it is he wants to say. ]
Anyway. This place's bad enough without all that. Hiding what you are is just gonna lead to a lot more problems than coming clean. So, if you need something, don't be shy. Someone's gonna listen, and if they don't, fuck 'em. You'll find someone who will.
[ This has been a passive-aggressive announcement by one pissed off angel. He rolls his eyes and adds a bit more before ending it there: ] Think about it.

[ jaye that's gross. ]
I mean, totally not gonna stop me from warning about people who won't play nice with the other species or whatever, but if they didn't in the first place that'd solve that.
video;
I know. It's just this stupid thing that pisses me off. I never really got the hate, you know. It was everywhere back home too.
video;
We hid, back home. All of us. Gods and angels and demons from what they actually are, minders from what we can do and who we serve. Everyone else...
Well, they'd lose their minds, probably, if they knew.
video;
[ A pause. ] We shouldn't have to hide what we are.
video;
[ She sighs, blows some hair out of her face. Howly huffs with her, settling his head on her legs. ]
I don't know how many things are left, back home, you know? There are all these stories about-- dragons and unicorns and dryads and stuff, and if the gods are real why wouldn't they be? They might all be dead now, because no one ever bothered to go "hey, cutting the horn off a unicorn is kind of a dick move, don't do that" and now no one thinks they exist.
video;
So, what. You think some dicks are gonna do the same to us if we don't speak up? Prove that we're real? How's that supposed to work? Half the people around here probably wouldn't even look one way or the other.
video;
[ A weak smile. ]
I don't want to be considered nothing more than a story people tell their kids. Well, me I'm okay with. But Coyote... he's real. He deserves that recognition. But back home, he can't have it. If he ever shows up [ she really hopes he never shows up ] I'd like him to have it here.

video;
[ Huff. ] I do so. But he's not here. [ And talking about him too much makes her sad because of it, so :( ]
video;
video;
So what, should I start every conversation with "hi, I'm Jaye and I'm a shapeshifter who works for a North American god"?
video;
Maybe. Has a nice ring to it anyway. [ A grin. ] Besides, they'd probably believe that over me being an angel.
video;
[ Snort. ]
Well yeah, I can just turn into a dog and bark at them if they don't.
