Hello again. I think some of you know who I am by now... [A little wave.] Juliana. I was--and in fact, I still am--available to answer any and all questions you may have about the situation you are in and what has come before. Ask and ye shall receive, as the saying goes.

[She sighs, a little puff of air that pushes a wisp of hair out of her face.]

However, I'll ask a favor in return. Things are dark and scary, aren't they? All sorts of strange things from time to time, a little creepy, etc. I was wondering, you know, what if I need to signal someone for help, someone nearby and available and willing to assist? [Oddly specific...]

Having not been human for most of my operational life, I don't know how to whistle. I thought perhaps I could learn a variety of whistles, for example I know there are assisted whistles and normal, melodic sorts, all of differing use and practicality. So someone should teach me.

[She manages to look a little troubled at the question, but she shakes her head.] Nothing in particular. Just the usual strange things, danger, mystery. I'm no stranger to intrigue. But if something does happen, and I can't get to my Spartan... What will I do then?

It's as though I don't think anything worse could happen than what's already happened, even though I know it could. It's not very logical. I process the odds but I don't... care.

But if something happens to one of them, I'll scream this time.

There are times when I think that you can't really apply logic to this place so I wouldn't worry about it too much if possible.

My... would I call them friends? I know they like me just as much as I like them, but friendship is such a loose concept.

Perhaps it is. In fact, I probably would have believed it more prior to my arrival on board.

I'm always up for creating makeshift radios. The only question is whether or not we have the materials to fashion one. We'd need something to amplify our signal, probably something from the comms - if we can get access to them.

Then there's the fact that we'll have to deal with whatever we attract.

( voice. )

I don't need a makeshift radio; I already have a real one. It's just not hooked up to anything...

[A pause, and then her voice drips with trouble.] Yet. That's a good idea. I could figure it out, and I might even let someone help, if they're smart enough.

[SIGH.] But yes, then... there's that. The predicament. What if I get into real trouble and I need to fight? You know, I've never fought a day since I got here.

( voice. )

... I could take a look at it. [it's a piece of halsey that shines through; she sounds almost a little too glad to tinker with it.

cortana sighs:] That's what you get for being a civilian consultant, you get to see all the action without learning any of the moves.

( voice. )

Take a look at it? Oh, no. He wouldn't let you. I'd have to lie and steal to pull that off. [Heeeeck no, that's her Spartan's armor to tinker with at this point. Maybe later she will share. But she seems perfectly fine with Cortana's offer, almost gracious, even. Just... saying no. With a smile.]

I'm not civilian... Technically I was aligned with anti-government forces, but I didn't always agree with them and undermining them was fun sometimes but that's beside the point, the point being that I'm woefully ill-versed in the ways of combat physically, even if I have a decent enough understanding of combat itself. [Puff puff she's super proud of her knowledge, even if it's not practical.]

( voice. )

Completely understandable. [a little too understandable. whoever it was, it was their gear and they had the ability to broadcast. interesting.]

Really? I didn't realize that we were in the same field. [technically, for a bit - at least.] I was usually on the front lines telling someone to pull up before they smashed into the side of a cruiser.
