[Good morning-- Is it morning? Evening? Day! Good day! Courfeyrac still has a hard time determining this on this ship. There must be some sense of time, after all, even if not by the sun and moon. Regardless, here’s an early 19th century dandy who has writing all over his face in sharpie.

Yes. That’s correct. Not just writing, but terrible poetry and double entendres and all of the innuendo. All over his face.

But he’s still grinning all the same, because he knows exactly why this is the case. He rubs his eyes for a moment before actually addressing everyone, his smile mischievous.]

It should seem that I awoke this morning with writing all over my face. Alas, my mysterious scribe is nowhere to be found. Perhaps someone would be so kind as to read it for me? Everything appears reverse when I look into a mirror.

What’s more, if someone finds the culprit, please do return him to me, won’t you? I imagine he is wandering the halls with a permanent marker in hand looking particularly devious.

I last resided in Paris, yes. Before arriving here some time ago, that is.

You can call me Caroline. [ she smiles.] I'm from America.

Caroline from America it is, then. [He grins, cheeky.] Whereabouts? I will pretend to be familiar with it, even if I am not.

I don't have to pretend with Paris, I've always wanted to go. [ she laughs.] Mystic Falls, Virginia.

Such a lovely town... Or at the very least, I can only imagine it to be. [But he matches her laugh.]

I am told that Paris has improved since my time there... And if that is the Paris you will visit, I can only agree that you should go as soon as you have the chance.

[ Again, she laughs with him.] It's easy to imagine. It's very quaint and kind of classic small town America.

[ she nods a little.] I hope to go, someday. But I'm stuck here for now. What was your favorite part about living there?

I am afraid I'm still having trouble imagining it.

Alas, however, we are all stuck here for the... foreseeable future. My favorite thing about living in Paris... Ah, but that is too difficult to determine.

Perhaps... Perhaps it is also my least favorite part of living there: Seeing the conditions of the lives of the people up close. But being able to try and change that... The ability to help them in any way we can...

[A pause.]

I can tell you whatever you want to know. But since... from what you're saying I'm from your future, really. You'll be happy to know that France is pretty great now. I mean that I know of.

I would like to hear whatever you can tell me. When my face is not covered in such writing.
