Yes. [ She laughs a little. ] The owner is the one I made the rabbit carvings for, actually.

Lots. I have some -- a rooster and a hen for eggs, a hellhound, a horse, and a cat. There are other horses and more chickens, other cats, lots of dogs, a deer, direwolves...

[ Hmm. Has she missed any? ]

And some of us can turn into animals.

Of course he's dangerous, if he's provoked or told to attack. But I've had him for longer than any demon has, so he's less dangerous than he might be.

And no, I'm not fucking with you. There are a lot of people who are more than just regular humans on the ship.

There are. Werewolves, wizards, people with superpowers -- the Tranquility grabs whoever and whatever from wherever it wants.

As far as I know, the werewolves usually lock themselves away when they're going to turn. Most of the vampires can get by on blood bags, synthetic blood, or donors. The rest...

ok but what are you and how do you change into animals? whats it feel like?

I'm a shapeshifter. It was a gift, from a god -- it's not something I was born with, and it could be taken away. But because I work for him, it's my gift.

[ There's a little bit of a shift, Jaye settling down in the grass of the gardens. ]

It doesn't hurt to change form, if that's what you mean. Not for me.
