three. video. (γνῶθι σεαυτόν)

[ Yeah okay, so he just showed his face in public fairly recently but whatever, this time he's kind of a little bit crankier. Kind of a lotta bit. Rubbing his hand across his face, pressing the heel of his hand into his eyes, wrinkling his nose - all ways he probably shouldn't be starting a video. Not that he really cares about being glamorous but still.

Whatever. He pushed the record button a hot second too soon, but it's not like he's got a ton to say. Ish.
]

This headache is past getting on my nerves and y'know, i'm starting to think it might have to do with the fact that i'm pretty sure my brain didn't really have room for a whole lot more in it. [ ... because that's logical. ] Or maybe it's more like- one of these things is not like the other. With a lot more pain involved.

[ Peter manages to glower at the camera for a second longer as if the thing has personally offended him. Who knows, maybe it has. ]

But mostly? I'd really like to know why the hell I remember turning into a werewolf, because you know what, i've never turned into a werewolf before. Not even once. Unless I did it unconsciously and this ship's dredged up the memory like a bad therapy session, but i'm still gonna go with door number one.

I've never turned into a werewolf. So I really don't know why I can remember doing it.

[ normally that'd be a quick ignore, actually, but given some recent revelations (and distinctly unwelcome memories)- ]

Turn into a werewolf how, exactly? Lon Chaney Jr?

Yeah, he mostly just stuck with the excessive hair.

You're sure this wasn't just an extremely vivid nightmare? Or dream. A month without dreams, we're bound to have some weird ones.

I know the feeling. If it helps, it's not just you.

[ a slight delay, then: ]

With the memories, not the werewolf thing. That sounds like a personal problem.

[ a thoughtful look, then evenly: ] Maybe you're hallucinating.

[ wow. what a revolutionary opinion. you're welcome, peter. ]

It's... maybe it's from a dream? [No? That's the theory he's hanging onto very dearly.]

Isn't that how it goes in the movies?

Today? I think I inherited a very complex Pavlovian response to the name Walter. Considering that the other day it was the fond memory of getting a rocket in the face, so far this one's a walk in the park.

Honestly? Too much. Reminds me of The Twilight Zone. In ultra HD and slightly less predictable, but the comparison stands.

sorry for the continued anon buddy

[personal profile] growling 2013-10-17 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
That's fair. Maybe more X-files.

[ which............... wait. that vaguely reminds him of a previous conversation with peter. it's kind of a leap, but- ]

Which isn't anything like where you're from, right?

[ just a slight delay before this one. it's prying, but he's... pretty sure they're beyond normal definitions of prying now, anyway. the only thing he can really do to improve the situation is to even the odds, hence dropping the anon. ]

He's your father?

Sadly, I think I get exactly what you mean.

[ it's easier to be light about it in retrospect, but there hadn't been anything remotely casual about that conversation in the hospital. which - now that he knows who the memories belong to, it somehow feels even more invasive. ]

Sorry.

Did you get anything else with yours? Or just a side of B-movie horror.

[ a small shrug. ] The mind can play tricks on itself in situations like this.
