001 ➺ Video

[ When she flicks the device on, she's pulling away, like she very obviously set it onto something so she could look slightly down at it. When she pulls away, the camera gives a sight of a woman who looks like she's in her mid-thirties. She's dressed in, well, something close to a black catsuit, and she folds her arms over her chest while she looks at the item. If anything, she looks a touch annoyed, but that's the last of the emotion on her face, and when she speaks, her voice is painfully level. The most important thing to note is that at her hip, there's a flash of metal that could just be a rather sophisticated, cylyndrical weapon. ]

I've done my research, so I don't need the basics. I'm looking for details, or specs, if you have them. I've figured out that whoever took me has to be an idiot for giving me an opportunity to talk over these things, and leave me with my weapons.

[ A quirk of an eyebrow. ]

It's messy.

So, has anyone met them? Has anyone said why, or are they just idiots? If not, then I guess there's at least some mystery to whatever it is I've stepped into this time. I don't suppose it's too much to ask about who's on here, is it? Getting a scope of the field will help out more than anything else.

Very true. And you can never be certain just how you'll be remembered, either.

But that's not really important, making history and what legacy we leave. All we can do, all we need to do, is the right thing while we can. Preserving peace, keeping people safe, making the universe a better place. That's really all we need to worry about.

Here on the Tranquility especially. Maybe we'll find a way home, but there won't be a point if we've given up on what we stand for to make it happen. There are dangers here, and people who cannot really defend themselves. Civilians, even children. People that could use what support we Jedi can offer.

[She doesn't really feel the need to say it, but maybe her tone carries the unspoken question: "Can I trust you'll do what you can to help?"]
ridesthesun: (No you don't)

[One does it by being Mara Jade]

There are security teams, and combatants like myself who've intervened in dangerous situations, yes. But given the unpredictable nature of the occurrences it's hard to plan effectively.

No, it's not a bad idea. Just improbable.

Generally when bad things happen, the non-combatants are encouraged to stay in their rooms. I can't say I disagree with that, since it keeps the halls clear.

From what I've seen? Yes. At least the events that are more physical in nature. The sleeplessness that's been bothering us for the last month...well, that's a different matter.

No, but then...getting them to listen is worse than trying to get the Council to listen, or stars forbid the Senate.

Lots of loner types here, and young people who think they know more than they actually do, honestly.

It's a little strange, but so many of them haven't even come from places that have discovered hyperspace yet.
ridesthesun: (Matter of Fact)

Yeah. Backwater types indeed.

[Honestly, she can relate to that feeling. If her conversations with Galadriel, Irene Adler and the Starks were any indication, a lot of people here simply had no idea that Space Travel was even a thing before Tranquility.]

Exactly...I sometimes call myself a professional herder of cats. Because that's what it's like sometimes.
