Has anyone had the two combine? I'm finding it difficult to know what to do with my daughter being a woman grown when she was three years old the last time I saw her.

Aragorn is still his foster-son and still the same age as when he last saw him, but the worlds they came from are so different, in seemingly subtle ways. On the hand, Maglor -- the foster-father he had not seen for thousands of years -- is here as well. There is definitely sympathy in Elrond's voice when he answers.]

Yes, nothing could change that. There's just normally... a bit more time to adjust, however quickly children grow up.

I was older than your daughter when last I saw my own father. [Or, well. The elf who was more a father to him than anyone else had been.] We have begun to forge our relationship anew. He is the same as I remember him. Your daughter does not look upon you as a stranger; you need not treat her as one.

I have not been separated from my own children for so long, but I understand how difficult it must be. [She has not seen some of them in a year, perhaps two, and already there are secrets.] The only advice I can give you is to treat her as an equal, and not as a child.

The strangest part is that it has only been a few months since I saw her. Tranquility is a strange place.

Then you must be very proud of her. [A beat.] She is still your daughter, even though she is a woman grown. That will not change, and if you two reach an understanding, then I believe your relationship will grow more natural in time.

I have, similar, though mine is more a friend that is closer to family than a child out of time. And another knew me as a child but clearly not here.
