SUCCESS!
[Have a beaming Combeferre, onscreen, wiping his hands on an apron. From the looks of things, he has been in the kitchen.]
Greetings, everyone!
I am pleased to update the entire ship on my progress in learning your new technological cooking methods, which have finally resulted in an edible, and delicious meal. You are all invited to a dinner party in the next few weeks, prepared entirely by myself.
I do hope many of you can make it.

[He is quite at a loss, really. It's generous of him to be so forthcoming and to share, but...
Really, might this not be testing limits? Just mildly?
Still, his... his enthusiasm and his victory against the microwave ought to be praised.]
Congratulations.
Are you, however, certain that one success is enough to feed, what might perhaps be, a large group of people?
Re: [Video]
Jehan?
[And he's still smiling into the camera, trying to watch Jehan's face to see what he's thinking.]
I did it! I really did it. Twice! And I am certain if I continue practicing, I can get even better. They make the most wonderfully exotic foods here that are actually easy to prepare. I can surely handle this.
no subject
...What is it that you really did, twice?
[He's not entirely convinced, forgive him, friend.]
no subject
And yet?
Do you doubt me so much, Jehan?
[His eyebrows aren't even moving. They're just sitting there sadly and dejected looking.]
I truly did it, though. I created food and have defeated the kitchen.
no subject
Still, Jehan cannot help but to soften at the reproach of Combeferre's disappointed expression, and then to smile just lightly at his explanation. Which was delightful in its simplicity.]
Have you, then? I could not doubt your word for the world, no...
Then, what is it you were able to make? And has the microwave throughly surrendered to you?
no subject
[You'll technically be eating irradiated food as well, Jehan. Consider that.]
You will soon see.
[Is it someone's imagination or is half of his right eyebrow missing now that it's really thought about.]
I have, however, beaten it into submission through persistence and acquired skill.
no subject
--Will I?
[He almost chokes on that statement a little bit, as if it was certainly news to him.
But then breathes a laugh and shakes his head.]
Ah, brave Theseus. You have figured out all riddles, slain all monsters, and saved a group of young people-- your peers, alas, hardly maidens-- much trouble. I congratulate you again.

If you will not come to the formal event, then I shall corner you and you will see at some other point.
[There is a smirk there, certainly.] After all, I do know where you sleep.
Ah there are my laurels! I shall certainly require them for learning to do what children would do elsewhere, yes! Thank you for being the first to deliver them.
no subject
...U-Undoubtedly, you do.
[Agreed, feeling as if that wasn't all colourful metaphor, after finding the man dressed 'elegantly' and watching him from in a bush. ...He will be checking his closets, thank you.]
I suppose there isn't any harm in coming to the public event then, no. If it truly won't be a bother, to have so many to look after. Do not harry yourself, and allow the laurels to slip from your head the way that I see half an eyebrow has.
[He sees that, there. Interesting fashion choice.]

Re: [video]
Telling would take away all of the fun, now wouldn't it?
Re: [video]
It shall be edible and very hard to ruin if that will help to strengthen your resolve, my friend. [Really. This will be different from that time with the attempt to mix the most effective liquid explosions. The lack of somewhere safe to test those being one factor involved in this.]
Regardless, do count me in. It is not as though I will be the only one to fall at such bad discretion, after all!
Re: [video]
[Combeferre is eyedarting a bit here.] Under the discretion of many I should imagine. It looked exactly like the image featured along with the recipe and tasted perfectly fine and I did not give myself any sort of poisoning so...I am inclined to call it a success. Trial and error, certainly has its advantages. [That HAD been a problem. It'd seemed like such a good idea at the time too. He had wanted all of them to see at once, but even so... At least he had paid for the damages?]
THAT is the spirit!

Though seriously, aside from Grantaire, Bahorel surely has the strongest stomach of them all and would survive longest to warn anyone else of the horrors of future
experimentsmeals made by Combeferre ... right?] Do let me know the time and date and I shall be the first to try your potentially undeadly concoction!no subject
[Which is still enough for Combeferre to pick up on and snicker at.] Deserved, admittedly. Ask Jehan about the bread making attempt perhaps. Or that may scare you away entirely.
[Another matter of smells of all things. How difficult it was to keep from creating them! Er....]
Of course I shall keep you updated!

That sounds absolutely...[What's the phrase to use here? He's searching his mind to try it out in this context. Blinding? No, no...] Brilliant.
no subject
Brill, yeah. Actually, could I bring him? A plus one, like?
no subject
[Oh good. He got it right and the context doesn't sound completely off. This is working much better than the time he referred to technology as a bitch then. Actually that one WOULD probably have worked if not for his audience at the time. When he has to explain things is when it gets weird. Clearly though, Cillian's the person to try this stuff out with instead of his friends. Anyway, he's grinning back.]
Of course. I'll make a note of that.
