In the end, people mostly go where they think they'll go. Some get reincarnated, some become ghosts, heaven, hell, any of the countless other realms of the dead in different cultures.

How is one to know if he has died? The possibility has been brought up that those who have prided themselves on experiencing death could have been taken here just as the bullet grazed them.

I don't suppose I really have any way to judge. We might all have been struck by lightning or hit by a car and just don't know it.
