[Anyone in the vicinity of the genetics lab would have heard the explosion, but even those that hadn’t would have likely felt the shudder and shake of the walls as they caved in on each other. The smoke streams from the doors that had once led to the sinister laboratory, and everyone who may be curious enough to investigate wouldn’t notice the two figures slipping silently and quickly away from the scene of the crime.

About fifteen minutes later, Heine finally makes the broadcast. His face is smudged with smoke and grime, and he’s clearly seen better days, but his face is set in stone, not giving away anything but his usual gruff exterior.]

...This a general call out to the ship. There’s been an explosion in the genetics lab, and from the looks of things there’s a lot of smoke. The fire is contained but I wouldn’t go in there until it’s out.

[He pauses, shifting the comm device so that it barely catches a mop of blonde hair that is huddled next to him before it settles briefly on the smoke that trindles from the hallway leading towards the lab.]

Do yourself a favour and don’t be a fucking idiot trying to go in there and salvage anything.

[At this point, Nill reaches for his hands so she can direct the camera at herself. Her hair is ruffled and she, too, looks as if she’s a little roughed up, but it isn’t anything serious. Carefully, she types:]

Please be careful. It looks bad.

I know that it looks like I did it, but before any of you decide to try and question the hell out of me, Nill and I saw someone leaving the area just after the explosion went off. I’d go after him but I need to look after Nill- she got caught in the blast too. I’ve shut down the area as best as I could but like I said...looks like we need to get a crew in there to put it out.

Ask me whatever the hell you want after we get this under control. We’ll be in our room.

[There's a flicker of something akin to distaste that appears on Heine's face. After a moment of thought he moves the communication device to face his back.

Most of his back is showing beneath the burnt pieces of jacket and t-shirt, and although he's beginning to heal now, the skin is still blistered and black.]

She wasn't, so don't get your panties in a fucking twist, kid. You're not her keeper.

[Francis knows a wound when he sees one and it silences him a second to see exactly how bad Heine looks. he sets his jaw, because he's stubborn, then hmphs]

Not her keeper, but I am her team leader.

[and now that the posturing is done]

So what happened. It exploded as you were walking by or something?

[As the camera swivels away from Francis's face it settles on Heine. The look on his face clearly says that the title could literally mean next to nothing to him.]

Yeah. Blast threw us for a loop but I managed to grab her in time to save her from most of the damage.

[heine don't be mean]

And you saw someone run off? Got a better description?

['Mean' is his middle name tho]

It's the best I got considering the amount of smoke there was. If you want anything better you're gonna have to go through the video tapes.

If you didn't get a good look, I doubt surveillance did, either. [scrubs his hair] Great. This is just what we need on the ship. Another psycho.

[But Heine 'Meaniepants' Rammsteiner has such a nice ring to it.

Somewhere in the back of his mind he can hear Ceberus letting out a gut busting laugh. 'Another psycho. This kid has no fucking idea, does he?' Heine's face of course, betrays nothing.]

Looks like the hunk of junk doesn't discriminate. It takes all kinds.

[Heine stares at the video feed for a moment, unblinking even though it looks like something distinctly off flashes in his eyes. It's gone in the blink of an eye though and his mouth widens into what could be considered in his own version of a grin.

My, what big teeth you have.]

At least I'm not some snot nosed punk trying to play hero. Looks like they take those types too.
