[Anyone in the vicinity of the genetics lab would have heard the explosion, but even those that hadn’t would have likely felt the shudder and shake of the walls as they caved in on each other. The smoke streams from the doors that had once led to the sinister laboratory, and everyone who may be curious enough to investigate wouldn’t notice the two figures slipping silently and quickly away from the scene of the crime.
About fifteen minutes later, Heine finally makes the broadcast. His face is smudged with smoke and grime, and he’s clearly seen better days, but his face is set in stone, not giving away anything but his usual gruff exterior.]
...This a general call out to the ship. There’s been an explosion in the genetics lab, and from the looks of things there’s a lot of smoke. The fire is contained but I wouldn’t go in there until it’s out.
[He pauses, shifting the comm device so that it barely catches a mop of blonde hair that is huddled next to him before it settles briefly on the smoke that trindles from the hallway leading towards the lab.]
Do yourself a favour and don’t be a fucking idiot trying to go in there and salvage anything.
[At this point, Nill reaches for his hands so she can direct the camera at herself. Her hair is ruffled and she, too, looks as if she’s a little roughed up, but it isn’t anything serious. Carefully, she types:]
Please be careful. It looks bad.
FILTERED TO: ALL SEC MEMBERS
I know that it looks like I did it, but before any of you decide to try and question the hell out of me, Nill and I saw someone leaving the area just after the explosion went off. I’d go after him but I need to look after Nill- she got caught in the blast too. I’ve shut down the area as best as I could but like I said...looks like we need to get a crew in there to put it out.
Ask me whatever the hell you want after we get this under control. We’ll be in our room.
[Click.]
[Heine will be answering questions a little later, as will Nill! Any SEC members that want to come and question either of them are welcome to at their room or over the com devices c: Have fun interrogating them <3 And to anyone wondering what this is all about please see here!]

[Literally. She saw the place once, when it first opened up, and it gave her actual wake-your-friends-in-the-middle-of-the-night nightmares.]
So it wasn't just an explosion, somebody blew it up? State of the place, I'd have put my money on an equipment malfunction. Well, whatever.
[a pause, and then - idly, because she's half-joking and she doesn't actually expect a serious answer]
Was it you?

[He doesn't see much humor in it, but his answer is easy and leveled that she wouldn't be able to tell he's lying unless she was...you know, really good at picking that out.]
No. Nill and I were just passing by.

[This is the point where she should volunteer and ask what's happening in that respect, except fuck no she's not getting near a fire.]
D'you get a good look at him? Or her, I guess.

[It's one of the only times he'd ever say something positive about the organization he's in...but even he can't tell if he's being sincere or not.]
Couldn't tell if it was a girl or a guy. There was too much smoke and I was more worried about getting her out of there.

[Not that she makes a habit of mocking SEC, but... okay, she kinda does. Not that she'd do any better; maybe she should be suspicious about how vague that sounds, but there's nothing more important that looking after the people you care about.]
That's fair. What ere you guys doing out there, anyway? Place is gross.
...
Was gross.

[He knows that's probably not what she means but, hey. He's not exactly in the best of moods right now.]
Taking a walk. We needed a little air.

[Okay, maybe NOW she's getting suspicious. She does that bitch-and-evade routine too, and it's usually when somebody's poking a little too close around something that's still tender.]
Hell of a place to go for a stroll. If it's air your after, the gardens might be a safer bet next time.
