[The woman who comes on the screen is beautiful, certainly, but also a little.... unearthly may be the word. Even if the pointed ears weren't visible, it would not be difficult to realize that she’s not human. But her smile is charming and genuine and she addresses the network with confidence and poise, which she hopes is some reassurance. ]
Two months it has been now and still I know so few of you. The fault is largely my own- I will admit to being somewhat overwhelmed by the strangeness of this place. But it is a misfortune that is easily resolved, is it not?
Others have asked for your tales; I think I will ask for your songs. Tell me of the music of your worlds, friends, and I will tell you of mine. It seems a topic worthy of conversation and it may bring some comfort to those who have only recently arrived.

In her sea-green Jedi robes, the Grandmaster smiles warmly, radiating good cheer like light from a star.]
Music where I am from, in truth, is as varied as the people here. I'm fond of Alderaanian folk music and Corellian pop, but without context they might be a little jarring to people from other worlds.

Don't really know much of music. Dad said too many bands talk about nothing but bad things so it was best ta not listen.

I... got a gramophone some time ago. [He stops. Not sure if she'd even know what that is.] It, er. It plays music. Some records from my world. Probably easier than just tellin' you the songs. It's really only a small handful though, but...

[ Merry has no idea how he got the device to do the thing, nor does he realized that part of his hand is actually infringing on the camera-part, but he looks excited to see her, at any rate. Also, he may or may not be appreciating that he has a warning on the off-chance she does that peering-into-him thing again.
A chance to brace for it is a bit nice.]It is good to see you, for I had thought you long gone across the sea.
[ Though Frodo was supposed to have gone then, too. Perhaps time is different here? It seems strange to have lived things that others yet have not. ]
There a plenty of hobitish songs, but I think I favor the one we sang before setting off on the quest. [ Also because he isn't inclined to share a drinking song with the Lady of Lothlorien ] Pip and I had based the tune off of the old Dwarvish song that set Bilbo off on his grand adventure, and in the end it seems most fitting.

It seems Hobbits have near as much a propensity for song as elves, in their own way. I would gladly hear whatever songs you might wish to share. But there is something I would ask of you first. [It's an oddly hopeful tone that creeps into her voice.] You spoke of thinking I had sailed?
