[Video] First Steps
[Nomi's had a couple of days to adjust and play around with her new communicator, but hasn't taken the time to do any sort of broadcast. Better to know the ins and outs of a new device before addressing it, since there was no sense in making a fool of herself. The entire affair is somewhat disorienting, but then she's been in worse straights. At least there's decent food, and showers. Much better than with the Krath. Why, she didn't even have her hands tied.
But now? Time to talk, figure out just who the other Jedi on the ship are. The ones she hasn't met yet, anyway. Those presences in the Force stand out like bright spots, after all, and if they're anywhere near as interesting as Master Jinn and Nymta then she's in for a real treat. Of course, there's also the matter of greeting the other people. No reason to exclude potential friends and allies, right?]
Greetings to you all.
I'm somewhat unfamiliar with protocol here, so forgive me if I misstep. My name is Nomi Sunrider, and I understand that that there are a number of fellow Jedi aboard this ship. If it's possible, I would very much like to speak with you. I've quite a number of questions and I feel it would be in our best interests to open lines of communication. As I've learned already...time seems rather fluid here, so if you require proof of my identity I will not take it amiss.
Now. With that bit of business out of the way...[Nomi smiles warmly at the camera, figuring a light topic would be best for the moment.] There are a number of other realities represented here, it seems, and that makes me wonder...just what is the music like where you are from? The audio files I've managed to access here feel...odd. Not bad, but certainly not my tastes. If anyone might be willing to share I have a few files stored in my personal datacron I could offer in exchange.
Also, is there anywhere I could find Jawa Juice on this ship?

[ Well. Even with a forced amnesia, Quinlan still knows the name 'Nomi Sundrider'. He sits away from the video feed, both mystified and a little wary. ]
Seems like time is more fluid than we thought. [ A beat. ] What proof were you going to offer?
video |
[She pauses, a faint smile playing across her lips]
Though, my datagrams should still check out.
video |
Quinlan shakes his head impassively, and answers in a low tone: ]
No need.
[ He pushes on, changing the subject. ]
Seems the Force is drawing more and more Jedi to the Tranquility every month. Being joined by a Grand Master is either fortunate or a bad omen.
video |
Well, she thinks so.]
So it would seem. I met two who arrived when I did, apparent newcomers as well, though neither were familiar to me. But it would appear, Master Jedi, that you have me at a disadvantage. You clearly know my name and rank, and I would be willing to wager you know things about my life as well, but I don't know you at all.
What should I call you? And when are you from? [She places a definite emphasis on that word. When. Lucien down there, as well as Nymta and Qui-Gon all seem to be from different times.]
video |
[ A detail he's keen to use - because yes he knows about her life as well as her name and rank. And after all the bloody-minded focus he has applied to his own mission to defeat the Sith Quinlan can't help but feel that little twinge of admiration for the legendary Grand Master. His Jedi graces have been forgotten and worn away over the years but Quinlan scrapes together enough finesse to bow his head at the video feed. ]
Quinlan Vos. [ Pointing out that he is a Master doesn't feel quite right, not in the face of a living legend displaced by four thousand years. Not when such a presence makes Quin feel not much more than a Padawan. Instead he smiles thinly, humourlessly, and lifts his head again. ] Welcome to the Tranquility, Master. We could do with your guidance.

And here I thought I'd be the furthest one behind everyone. [Line face.] Best piece of news I've had all day.
video |
I'm glad to hear it. But I...am afraid as familiar as your presence is, I cannot place a name to your face.
video |
I wouldn't expect you too, it's been some time since I last saw you. I'm Lucien Draay, Master Sunrider. [And he actually sounds respectful.]
video |
That's a name she knows! Krynda Draay had been a fellow student of two of her former mentors, before the war that changed everything. She'd been present at Krynda's wedding, and she'd even met the child a few times. Talk about a shock...]
Lucien Draay?! Krynda's son?! By the Force, you've grown! I certainly...hadn't expected to find you here.
[Perhaps not the most dignified, but...wow it's good to see someone...]
It's good to see you again.
video |
It doesn't change how he shifts a little awkwardly at that though.]
Krynda's son, yes. [He's so used to that question that his response is automatic, but it's never over how he looks, just what he can do.] And it's generally what people do, over the course of thirty years.
[He's glad to see you too, Nomi.]

[She continues to approve. What happened to the jedi council after Nomi left? Did she take all the fun people with her?]
no subject
[There's a laugh in there somewhere. Glad you approve, Nymta.]
Though if I can get one of the non-alcoholic varieties, I certainly wouldn't say no.

[Though, there are downsides. The constant presence of others emotions and presences in your head that you can't shut out is difficult sometimes. And her own issues with psychic attacks and the Force possession...but avoiding hangovers is always a welcome positive.]
As for the head count...so far, you and I. Master Jinn and his apprentice who I have yet to speak with. Master Draay and Master Vos, as well as two more powerful presences I've felt but haven't located. And a senator from Alderaan, it seems.
no subject
Well, where would civilization be without the politicians, I guess.
[Much happier, her tone implies. But so is life.]
But not a single Knight yet, hm? That's unexpected.

I'm Jedi Padawan Kenobi.

[There's a moment where she blinks, a little confused. Padawan isn't a term she's familiar with, but she can puzzle it out.
In her day they were just called apprentices.]Padawan Kenobi, it's nice to speak with you.
