[The feed flickers to life, leaving a fairly weathered face yes he has a face staring into it, appearing rather unimpressed. It's the first time he's used the network for his own transmission, though he's viewed enough at this point to get the general idea - this is how people around here communicate for near any purpose. Now that he's getting at least a little more used to things, he figured he might as well give it a shot.

Plus, it leaves him with at least a chance of seeing if what he'd heard from a certain source is right, if there really are people here that he already knows - people from his "universe."]

Guess I've been here for about two weeks now, so I might as well make myself known, or something. [Considering he's been keeping to himself since he arrived, and since his encounter with Epsilon. He's not exactly the outgoing type, but he figures he at least might learn more about the place if he talks to some of the people who've been here for god only knows how long.]

I'm Agent-- [A pause, in which he purses his lips and releases a breath.] ...I'm Washington. If it really matters to anyone. As I said, I've been here about two weeks, so I guess that makes me one of the new guys. I've been looking around on my own since I got here, and at this point I'm fairly certain I've at least got the basics on the place. Even if the whole thing still seems entirely impossible. I've done space, but I've never been kidnapped to another universe and trapped on a spaceship with no memory of actually arriving. [He deadpans, then shakes his head and wonders again why he's doing this. As much as he doesn't want to admit it, even to himself, he...might be a little starved for some conversation. Though he's already certain he's going to regret this decision.]

Anyway. I'm here, that's about all I wanted to say.

[He scoffs at himself, realizing this was even more pointless than he'd originally expected it to be, and swiftly cuts the feed.]

[It's not hard to pick up the bitterness, but there's no sympathetic look in response.]

That's a word for it. [Okay, he does feel a little bad, but he's not about to show it.] ...How've you been?

Oh, you know, pretty great. Since I'm not dead here. And also not a goddamn computer program. So all things considered? Being stuck on some fucked-up spaceship with pirates attacking and freakish mutant animals and a captain that shoots prisoners and disappears into thin air is actually a pretty great change for me.

Okay he needs a minute for that one.]

Mutant--what?! This place only gets stupider every time I learn more about it. [SIGH. Anyway, where was he?] But there's no need to get snarky about it with me. I'm not the one who dropped you here.

Damn right you're not. If it wasn't for this place, I'd be... Well. A ghost. For what that's worth.

[Especially since now that he's actually met Epsilon he has his doubts about whether that sacrifice was actually worth it.]

So I'd say the ship actually has done me a favor or two. Good ship.

[It takes a lot to fight the urge to say something along the lines of "not a ghost," but he manages to hold his tongue because he knows damn well it won't help with anything. Instead he'll just...actually be sort of glad for Church. At least he's gotten something out of this whole thing.]

Well. If that's the case, then...it does seem like a mild improvement. For you, at least.

[Speaking of improvements.]

But you probably heard that. Who'd you run into that said I was here?

Yeah, I heard she was here.

[At the question of who had informed him of all this though, he gets a rather sour look on his face and his voice takes on a very flat edge.]

Epsilon. He found me just after the jump, gave me the list.

Well. Must've been quite the reunion. Real sad I missed it.

[Obviously he knows Church isn't, but really. It hadn't been pretty. And already, he's looking to change the subject.]

How long have you been here, anyway? Doesn't seem to me like this place lets people go back to where they came from often.

Four months. And I dunno about that, there's a pretty good turnover here. Some people have been here over a year, some don't make it a whole month. Most are somewhere in between, though.

Oh, but for your own information, it's not like we know for sure that people go home from here. Maybe they go to some even more fucked-up spaceship.

Really?

[He doesn't sound impressed, but he also isn't entirely sure which part he's "really"-ing. The fact that Church has been here four months, the fact that people do actually come and go...

Though that last bit is enough to stop him from clarifying to instead simply stare.]

Of course. Knowing would just make things too certain, wouldn't it? [He gives a harsh sigh.] Great. Just great. This place is ridiculous.

I'm sure. And I imagine being stuck here for an indefinite amount of time will only help.
