[Godric has been scarce during the invasion by the Scylla's crew, and for good reason. But he's been paying attention. He's in the emergency shuttle bay when he turns on the video, and evidence of the pirates is immediately apparent. There are supplies and equipment, some of it packed away, some of it scattered on the floor in disarray. But more concerning are the devices attached to the walls, the floor, and even the door -- clearly explosives of some sort. An escape plan, or a defensive perimeter. It would be more alarming, but for the fact that all the devices look still and quiet, void of frightening red lights or ominous noises.

Perhaps most eye-catching of all is the message written above the two tubes protruding from the outer hull of the Tranquility:

MAKE IT QUICK...

Godric turns the video onto himself, and addresses anyone watching.]

It seems our friend has left us a note.

[Usually, this would be locked to Security. But with Tyke out of commission, it's probably a moot point.]

[Jim studies that for a moment, considers the whole situation, and then narrows his eyes. make it quick? why would they have ot make it quick if, feasibly, they had all the time in the world on this ship?]

He'd be more helpful if he wasn't so fuckin' fond of the drama. Seriously, is it so goddamn hard to send us all a message saying hey, dudes, the pirates are dead and all, so I've taken the liberty of letting you guys have back all the shit they stole.

[ he rubs his face, sighing. ]

[ ok maybe barton should be a little creeped out, especially with the message and all the pirate slaughter. that doesn't mean his priorities aren't in order. ]

There any goodies down there we need to grab before the jump?

Our investigation of the Scylla, I would assume. This is where she docked.

Are we sure of anything in this place?

[faderbroderson]

Undoubtedly. We can take our supplies back, and they sadly no longer have a use for any they already had on the Scylla.

[Which is something Godric is not best pleased about, but there are practicalities to consider.]

What if it was for the pirates?

As have I. For all his puzzles can be frustrating, he assists us at every turn.

Speaking of things that are more use to us—any sign we can still get on their ship?

[ clint's definitely enroute to the emergency shuttle bay as they speak in order to check the place out for himself, but this is info everyone could benefit from. might as well ask the question here. ]

In what other ways? I believe this is his first appearance since I have been here.

I'm not terribly cheerful, myself. [He gets it.]

Despite his willingness to help, I still believe this is a game to him. Either that, or he is not as free to act as we think.

Then I assume it would be painted on our doorway, not theirs.

[He looks at the bombs with a sort of vague interest.]

And I think these would be armed.

The bombs are disarmed and I see no physical impediment, so I would guess so.

There was an illness aboard, caused by the stasis we all enter into at the jump. It came close to killing many, but Smiley gave us a map that lead us to a cure. I have also heard he helped people escape Strela, the space port.

Are you going in?

How did it know? Why is it telling us that?

[faderbroderson]

Probably. But who's to say how he knows, or why he decides to help when he does? Who's to say he's even sincere in his assistance?

Be careful.

I've been here a year. I don't know how we trust anything on board this ship. But we keep doing it, like maybe someday it will give us something good.

[goldshirt]

Yeah.

[it's a possibility, and Jim drums his fingers thoughtfully. those pirates could've been lured here. they don't know when the Make it quick had showed up. what if it had been a warning to those pirates, they had to make it quick and get the hell out? Ward had said they weren't supposed to find this ship. if they weren't supposed to, could they have had help?

on the other hand, if the message was for them, then it meant something might happen to the Scylla.]

Somehow I don't think the pirates would have disarmed their defensive perimeter if they knew they were in a tight spot.

[so it must have been Smiley.]

The jump is coming. We should probably follow that advice, just in case.

I will be. He's given us good things before, no matter how frustrating his methods. I don't trust his motivations, but I find I do trust in patterns of behavior. Perhaps one day that will backfire, but for now I'll take the risk.

My thoughts exactly. I'll be going aboard with whoever shows up to scavenge, and to keep them from any trouble.

I want to swing by. Somehow this ship got passed our scanners, I want to find out how, and if we can use it for ourselves.
