[All things considered, Nyreen thinks she is settling in well, as much as things are still strange and she's running out of things to do on her own to keep herself sharp, focused without going crazy for having nothing to focus on. Official expectations here seem to be about zero and those of the other passengers are... varied, to say the least.]

I have three questions. You don't have to be able to answer them all to respond, any sort of conversation will do.

1. How familiar are you all with aliens - that is, sentient organic races from a star system that wasn't your own? There are a lot of humans here, so it makes one curious. We are on a spaceship, after all.

2. Does anyone here spar? If there's any sort of organized club for physical training, I haven't heard of it, but I'd be interested if anyone wants someone to practice hand-to-hand combat with.

3. How exactly does one go about joining the Security team here? I'm interested in helping out, willing to go through an application process if necessary.

1. Life on other planets always seemed plausible to me, but when I left Earth, we hadn't met any yet. I do know quite a few sentient, organic non-humans from Earth though, if that helps?

1. All the non-humans I can think of are magical beings: giants, centaurs, veela, and other people like that.

I don't know about the rest of the ship, but I haven't seen any aliens in person until I got here. The Eridians died off a long time ago.

And why would you want to join Security?

I'm interested in Security because I can't think of any better way to use my skills than to protect those here less capable in combat than I am. I don't see why it wouldn't be the best thing for me.

As a member of a humanitarian and peace keeping armada in my primary continuum, contact and the formation of favourable relations with alien species is an expectation.

Further I myself am not native to Earth.
Those arriving upon the Tranquility from alternative planets have historically existed as a minority.

Is there some sort of reasonable explanation for that, or is that another thing gone unanswered from whatever has brought us here? In my galaxy, humans may spread like fungus, but that doesn't make them the majority. I don't know if it's the same in your continuity.

1. if you mean non-human then you can count me as one! im also furmiliar with the concept of aliens (that is, sentient species that are not my own) but i only ever conversed with humans befur arriving here.

2. ive heard about a fight club so you can ask around about that. purrsonally im okay with sparring too if you ever n33d a partner! i think id have to check with my furiend equius to make sure itd be okay though.

[Upon receiving this response, Nyreen spends a good ten minutes trying to decipher some sort of message or code, a deeper meaning to the typing choices and diction and colouring. It must mean something, everything means something. She's so used to codes and communicating without saying what you mean that 'it's just a typing quirk' doesn't cross her mind.

Eventually she gives up and notes it as a ship mystery long enough to reply and not be rude, at least.]

I'm not a human, either. Turian. Most humans here seem to be infinitely more unfamiliar with the rest of the aliens in their galaxy than I'm used to, so it's just taken me by surprise, I suppose.

Also I've never really believed that size had much to do with anyone's ability to protect themselves, Lute. You just need to find the methods that work for you.

I've had a few offers for sparring already, thank you, sir. [It's a habit she's not about to break herself of now, being from a highly militarized race. Years of having commanding officers and higher-ups, even if they were behind her, meant all of them got roughly what translated for the humans as sir.]

I would guess you're not an Alliance marine, then. Would you be put off a combat partner if they did happen to be an alien? If you were interested at all in keeping sharp with someone, that is.
