[Someone has found their way into Medical and has been quite busy making himself at home. There's a lot to catch up on here, but there aren't any dark circles under these eyes. Not sleeping is the best benefit to being plastic]

Right, so I think we need a list of species on board since not everyone is human. I know the genetic guys are probably doing something about that, but in the even of an emergency they won't be taking care of you. From what I've figured out this equipment is all based on human physiology; we need to know what to adapt.

Um, the engineers will probably need to help. Oh, and programmers. I can learn, but I'm not an expert. Doctor, if you have time to look things over that would be good.

Also, if you have medical needs you can and should let me know so that I can update the database. Everything is strictly confidential.

[Ianto's brow furrows slightly as he flips through his mental catalogue. He has a good memory, and a healthy portion of the archives he'd spent years organizing were filed just as neatly in his mind.]

I think it's a separate timeline. I don't know, but the Doctor would.

[He sighs]

It's a prison built to hold the Doctor. Amy's waiting inside of it. It's been 1800 years for her in that box. Longer if I'm stuck here.

[Ianto pulled in a sharp breath, uncomfortably reminded of Jack's two-thousand year stay underground, courtesy of his brother.]

I take it she's...sleeping. Unaware?

[He doesn't ask who would build a prison to hold the Doctor. The man made enemies easily, and he'd worked for Torchwood One.]

I...she was shot. The Doctor said she was mostly dead, but the Pandorica would force her to live until it can heal her with a copy of her DNA, so we're waiting. Well, I'm waiting. I owe it to her.

[Ianto has never time traveled in his life, but he's been surrounded by time travelers at all turns. He knows how it works, and he comprehends the significance of what Rory's saying.]

She's a lucky girl to have someone so in love with her.

I'd wait an eternity for her.

[Some might find his love for her sickening or even pathetic]

She might not even remember me. I mean she'd started to, but then the shooting and the box...

He said she wouldn't even know time had passed, but this is Amy.

[His laugh is dry and sad]

I'm sorry. I won't say love conquers all... I know firsthand that sometimes it doesn't. But it can still work wonders.

[Ianto doesn't find it sickening or pathetic in the least. He's done insane things for love, and he doesn't fool himself into thinking there's any limit to what he might do for Jack.]

If it isn't an intrusive question, how is it possible for you to wait so long? You don't age or die..?

[His life has become quite complicated since meeting the Doctor]

[Doctor complicated, then. But at least Ianto can breathe a mental sigh of relief. Rory isn't like Jack. If he were, nothing would stop Ianto from finding the Doctor and ensuring that he would never again inflict such a curse on anyone.]

I died and then I woke up a Roman with all this Roman stuff in my head. The Doctor said Amy's memories brought me back even though she couldn't remember me because I was erased from the universe. Funny that. I always imagined growing old with her and now even if everything is fixed she'll grow old alone.

[The information is overwhelming and doesn't make much immediate sense, except to make clear that Rory has had more than a tough time of it. The last part though, he understands all too well.]

You should talk to Jack. It isn't my place to say why, but he might have some insight that could help.

[It's a risk, revealing that much. Ianto guards Jack's secret viciously, most of the time, until Jack says otherwise. But this is a private line with a Doctor's companion who's hurting and in love and for all intents and purposes immortal -- if not quite -- and he would be utterly remiss to keep silent. It could be good for both Rory and Jack to speak to each other.]

A vampire fish? That's new. We're more accustomed to drug-addicted blowfish in Wales.

Huh. I don't remember there being many aliens around back then, but then the Doctor explained about this crack in the universe. It's all rather complicated and confusing.
