[ Daylen rarely uses the network.

In fact, the few times he does it's either in private messages or replies to other people. He can't shake the distrust of it, a distrust as much from inability to understand as general suspicion over how it works.

Still. Alistair uses it. Other people he likes and gives credit to use it. If it indeed works as it seems to, then it could be a useful tool.

More importantly, it could gather him the answers he seeks. Even the ones he might not wish to hear but has to. ]

A moment of your time, for those inclined to answer.

I have heard stories of those who vanish during jumps or before, mixed information.

I have heard that those who vanish completely -- their reference upon these things returns a different message which indicates this.

I have heard some vanish and return at a later 'jump', with different memories. Some remember this place, some do not. Some with different demeanour or events recalled to when they left. Some differently gendered, even.

I would like to hear from people who have experience with this, or anything to add. I wish to understand better. Thank you in advanced.

[ Another pause here, as he debates his answer. ]

I knew someone here, someone who is gone now, who said they knew me. Yet they knew me from a point in my future, a path I had yet to walk. I was strange to them, because I had not the memories of that time -- nor the change in attitude from experience. That is why I ask.

They could be from your future. That's how it is for me, with some people here.

They claim to be, but how does one know... if the future they are from is the same as the future you will walk? I have thought on this much, and I still have no answer to it. I only know that I am not the way some people expect me to be, and I am unsure if I like the idea of the changes that may come to pass.

[ He hesitates, awkwardly self aware of his own brooding for a moment, then sighs. ]

Forgive me, I did not mean to subject a stranger to my thought patterns. These things are strange. I feel as if I am talking at people rather than to them without their company to keep me aware of myself. My name is Daylen. You deserve that, at least, for having listened to me and offered your input.

The apology isn't really necessary. It's an interesting theory to consider, in a situation like this.

Perhaps. It is just as likely, mind, that such things are beyond understanding -- and that over-thinking will only cause us stress and headaches. I find it hard not to think about, yet the harder I think no clear answer forms. Only more concerns, more questions.

Answer one question, then you've got hundred more. It's the same anywhere.

Mayhap it is simply a matter of finding the right question to ask.

I would not withhold information, although I somehow doubt it will be as quick or easy to solve as we might hope.
