[ damon doesn't post often to the open network, not seeing a reason to put all of his business out there in the open, but when there's a purpose for it there's no reason to hold back, right? besides discussions with stefan got him thinking about his lack of investment here on this murder ship. it's not entirely unusual for him to have an interest in this sort of thing, being on the founders council and all that good stuff back at home in mystic falls. good-doing and greater-good-defending are things he can pull off pretty well, thank you very much.

not that it has anything to do with a certain brother and doppelganger showing up. ]

So let's say theoretically someone's interested in doing their part in the neighborhood watch. Security duty all official-like. How would they go about that?

In theory, as long as it's on board, we can have it ready for you on the same day. Problem is -- in order to synthesize, you need an initial sample of whatever it is you want, and to my knowledge there's nothing small and furry in the system. [his SUX2BEU BRO shrug isn't audible, but the drier note in his voice is; it's basically the tonal equivalent of hey, what can you do?] The real hurdle is probably going to be asking people if you can stick a needle in their dog.

That's the general idea. I don't think we've got any vets onboard at the moment, but as far as procedures go it's pretty simple -- whoever does it's probably going to lose more blood than the animal at the end of the day, if they're not sedated.

[he's gonna skip over the fact that with many small animals it's easiest to extract from the jugular! this guy doesn't sound even remotely squeamish, but "so we're going to stick a needle in your cat's neck" is not usually part of a winning pitch.]

As long as you don't bring one of the giant wolves into Medical, we should be golden.
