so i was doing some reading and is it true those monsters out there don't have any eyes?
[he asks because, well, from the sound of it he's going to have to fight one at some point. normally, Tobias' battlemorph is his normal body- the red tailed hawk. but if these things don't have eyes, then that'll pose a problem. the hawk always goes for the eyes, he's used that to his and the other Animorph's advantage before, but he'll be useless like this, and he can't think of any other morph that would be useful. the polar bear will get too warm, he can't fight as an Andalite, not well at least, and Ket will be too tall to hit something at knee level.
not that. he's going to mention any of this.]
also i know we can't actually GO home but, is there a way to send a message back home or something? or maybe send out a distress signal for help? they always do that in the movies when a ship is in trouble and from the look of it we're in trouble.
[he winces at his own post, because it sounds pretty lame, but hopefully it'll keep him under the radar as well as get him some answers for the time being.]

Don't know until we have a look how fried externals are, but like I said, we'll look into it. It's a good idea.

[And boy what a fun experience that was.]
You know, it's funny... In all the time I've been here, don't think anybody's ever mentioned anything about a distress signal before. Figured that would be the first thing some jackass would do six months before I even came here.
The only problem I see with that is that it might also attract unwanted attention.
Besides, who knows what the date is? How do we know that home even EXISTS right now?
[Time for some Deep Pendleton Thoughts.]

there must be some kind of frequency that can be picked up by friendlies. they do it in star trek.
[text]
We've got no idea who friendlies even are around here. ANYBODY can pull the friendly card first and then shoot you in the face without a second thought.
