so i was doing some reading and is it true those monsters out there don't have any eyes?

[he asks because, well, from the sound of it he's going to have to fight one at some point. normally, Tobias' battlemorph is his normal body- the red tailed hawk. but if these things don't have eyes, then that'll pose a problem. the hawk always goes for the eyes, he's used that to his and the other Animorph's advantage before, but he'll be useless like this, and he can't think of any other morph that would be useful. the polar bear will get too warm, he can't fight as an Andalite, not well at least, and Ket will be too tall to hit something at knee level.

not that. he's going to mention any of this.]

also i know we can't actually GO home but, is there a way to send a message back home or something? or maybe send out a distress signal for help? they always do that in the movies when a ship is in trouble and from the look of it we're in trouble.

[he winces at his own post, because it sounds pretty lame, but hopefully it'll keep him under the radar as well as get him some answers for the time being.]

Monsters that don't have eyes usually means that we have the advantage.

(wait wait wait wait wait)

You just said "monsters".

Hadn't really thought about it. I guess we've all been so involved with what's going on onboard we haven't thought too hard on trying to reestablish external communication.

[personal profile] cargojet 2013-02-14 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
That wholly depends on whether it's possible, kid. We can't even get ship's internal communications online, and emergency communications, the kind that work even when the power goes out, is practically impossible.

Don't know until we have a look how fried externals are, but like I said, we'll look into it. It's a good idea.

I haven't seen much [Except when a man covered in black with face hidden was chasing Murphy and him] but a lot of people have been posting various encounters. There's been several strange holes, [Ironically, that's not uncommon for him.] Not monsters, but it's concerning.

yardbird: Who put this hole here? (there is no way out)

[text]

[personal profile] yardbird 2013-02-14 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's true and I've seen them - and just because they don't have eyes doesn't mean they can't get the jump on you anyway. They're smart and fast and nearly took me out in the science department awhile back.

[And boy what a fun experience that was.]

You know, it's funny... In all the time I've been here, don't think anybody's ever mentioned anything about a distress signal before. Figured that would be the first thing some jackass would do six months before I even came here.

The only problem I see with that is that it might also attract unwanted attention.

Besides, who knows what the date is? How do we know that home even EXISTS right now?

[Time for some Deep Pendleton Thoughts.]

It was like I was fighting for my life? I don't know, it's not as if I was going out of my way to take them out. They seem to like to fight in groups, I know that much - and they might've also been human once.

We've got no idea who friendlies even are around here. ANYBODY can pull the friendly card first and then shoot you in the face without a second thought.
