[ It's been awhile, and he's finally feeling like now is the time to speak. He's definitely putting effort forward to not talk about the past few weeks. He's in his room, though, and he's wearing his own clothes - a blue shirt and a sweater. He's holding the black knight chess piece between his thumb and first finger in his left hand. ]

I've learned many things in my few months - jumps - here. These past two jumps have been a learning experience, I must say. It was the first time the ship has given me anything.

[ He sets down the chess piece, and a smiles a little. ]

A gun with one bullet and some scotch. I wonder if it is trying to tell me anything.

[ Amused noise. ]

This place - the ship - seems more alive the longer I spend here. If the jump before this past one says anything. It isn't outside of the realm of possibility here. I can't - tell - for certain, though. The way this place changes and can be more difficult to navigate one day than another makes it seem so sentient.

[ Pauses only briefly. ]

Anyway - I do have scotch, and am willing to share. Just let me know - and I can give you directions. The only price is a conversation.

I don't entirely trust my ability to encrypt things here, but I don't think it will have the desired effects - such as overriding the limits placed. [ He's particularly carefully about how he says it. He won't say 'on us' or identify himself as a mutant. ] It is however, the same thing, and if it weren't for the abilities already being restricted - it could do magnificent things.

The only way, though, to know for sure - is to test it on a mutant.

I've made a habit of exploring, and I can say with certainty that the hallways move, or something affects our perception such that they seem to. It seems deliberate enough to suggest sentience, but whether it's the ship that is sentient or something capable of controlling the ship is more difficult to say.

It is very alive for something - so inorganic. If something controlling it were to change the layout to something just as unpredictable as the last - it seems like quite the hindrance.
