[ there's a dizzying swing of the camera at first as the device is positioned, and then the picture comes into focus. she wears the simple black suit they gave to her, wears her hair in a simple braid over her shoulder, but there is something about the way she sits, the way she looks, solemn and calm, that might belie nobility.

there also happens to be the head of a wolf just in shot at her side, sandy haired. one of Zelda's hands rests in the fur on the beast's great head, but her attention is on the camera. at first, she studies the thing, eyes narrowed, as if she isn't sure it's working as expected - and then she seems content with it, and gives a nod, and speaks, soft and clear. ]

It seems that 'Tranquility' is a name ill-fitting for this - vessel. [ she still finds it a little hard to believe that they're essentially flying in the sky, but she's known stranger circumstances, and isn't about to call it foolish. new as she is, the sorrow that passes over her face is utterly genuine - ] - I understand that these times are cruel. I am sorry.

[ the grief passes, however, the calm remains, her fingers scratching at one of the wolf's ears before she continues, steady and even. ]

My name is Zelda, and I am newly woken here. I have gathered some information on the situation, but - more would always be welcome. Some of you have been kept here for some time, I imagine. The dangers, especially - please tell me of them.

I also seek to speak with those working in the medical section of the ship. I am no doctor, but I have power that may be put to use there, if you will have it.

[ a brief, curt smile, and then she bows her head. ] Thank you.

[A spiky-haired man appears on the feed, looking at you curiously.] I've... not been here for very long, but you're right. It's definitely not the right name.

Nice to meet you, Zelda, I'm Phoenix. Phoenix Wright. What... uh...

What exactly are you curious about, danger-wise?

[ her smile is gentle, short-lived, but genuine. ]

It is an honour, my lord. [ and then, to business - ]

I have heard talk of monsters of some sort, that some parts of this place are unsafe. Learning more details would be helpful to me.

Okay, hm. I think I can answer all that...

The monsters are called Manticores. I haven't ever seen one in person myself, but they're pretty fast and pretty dangerous, according to what we've seen. Near as I can tell, they populate the majority of the ship we don't.

All the well lit areas are safe. Passenger deck, the pods you climbed out of, engineering, the garden, the labs, the medical deck. And the bridge, I think

[ she nods, frowning minutely. ] I pray you never need to see one yourself, then. [ still, if they're suspected to be so widespread, that may be a foolish hope. but she'll hope, regardless.
then her eyebrow quirks in curiosity because space terminology??? ]

The bridge? The bridge to where?

That makes two of us. [A hand goes to the back of his head, scratching it. He does grin sheepishly at the "bridge to where" remark, however.]

Ahah, no no. That's not it. It's like. A really important spot on the ship, where the captain and his immediate staff sit. Like, the place with the most important people. Does that make sense?

[Not just her posture, but the way that she speaks too. A lady or a princess, Merlin's sure that it must be one or the other. Though she seems a good bit nicer than many of the nobles who visited Camelot.]

It's felt anything but tranquil lately. But there are helpful people aboard.

[He's briefly distracted, glancing from her face to the wolf and back again.]

He arrived with you, I take it?

[ she stares at him, just for a moment, in something akin to surprise - pleasant surprise, because here is a face she knows.

but he does not know her, and her expression is quickly schooled to a soft smile, and she nods. ]

I am glad to hear it, though it does not surprise me. Where there is darkness such as this, hope can hold people together all the stronger.

[ and then her smile creases into something brighter, a little amused. ]

She did indeed. Sahar is a dear companion of mine, but it has been a while since we walked together.

[Merlin gives an embarrassed grin at his assumption. There's a tilt of his head towards the end, trying to puzzle out what she's saying.]

Why is that? She doesn't look like she would ever leave your side.

[He thinks of the boy Bran and his wolf, the bond they seemed to share.]

I doubt she would, if she had a choice. But not all paths can be walked together.

Medical is willing to take anyone who wants to help. What is it you do, exactly?

I heal, my lord, with magic. [ some people have trouble understanding or accepting that, she knows, so she is patient. ] I can use my abilities for grievous injury, or for sickness, though it cannot always purge the latter. I can set bone and knit flesh, and if circumstances are dire, I have been able to keep someone from death. My work has taught me a little of the more - typical methods, as well, and I would be happy to assist where it is needed.

[ a pause, a breath, before she continues. ]

I do not know how strong my power will be in this place, or how taxing to me, but whatever I can do is yours.

I've had someone else approach me with similar abilities. He called himself a healer?

You'll, um. Have to forgive me if I ask a lot of questions. We don't have anything like that where I come from.

That was the term I used, as well, when my knowledge was called upon in the past.

Please, think nothing of it. I understand it is strange to many, and I will happily explain what I can.

[oh my god. oh my god it's Zelda. Tobias owned all of those games, and she may or may not have been one of his earliest crushes. not that he'd ever admit that, especially not within earshot of Marco. he really tells himself not to respond to this, but he eventually he can't help himself]

I guess this place is a lot different from what you're used to, huh?

[ there's a soft, amused hum, not enough to be called a laugh. her reply is rueful. ]

Do I make it so obvious?

The wolf gave you away.

[it didn't, really, but he needs an excuse and he's seen the whole cast of people with their direwolves; they seem medieval, and while Zelda isn't exactly medieval she's kind of close]

I guess you just look like you should be in a castle somewhere, not up in space.

[he winces, unseen. could you be any more obvious?]

[ she isn't certain that perceptiveness is the only thing at work here, but there is little need to press such questions - now, at least. ]

I admit, I am more used to a castle than this space.

[ she reminds him of a great elven maid. the way she carries wisdom, though she seems young in face, perhaps she is an elf after all. either way she carries a posture worthy of respect, and the ringbearer heeds it.

he appears on the screen, video lowered, covered in a green cloak, a worn face, old eyes. his voice is also quiet, though it is low, the voice of anything but a child. ]

What questions do you have that haven't already been answered?

[ here is a face young and yet old, in age and in mien. she studies him for a few moments unanswering, silent, her eyes measuring but also understanding. he is tired, this one, as many are. he is burdened. he is pained. it is enough to make her heart go out to him. ]

My questions are few when I come knowing so little. Perhaps you might tell me how long you've been here for, my lord, and what you've come to express?

[ the speaking of lord surprises him. there's a faint shake of the head, a small smile, almost embarrassed. ]

I am no lord, my lady. I am only a hobbit, nothing more.
[ the smile fades a bit, until it's only a line barely noticeable from his skin. ]

For some time now. Months, though time passes differently then where I've come from.

I have not met a hobbit before. Where do you hail from, sir hobbit?

[ she offers her own gentle smile. ]

I see. [ she wonders to herself if it was this place that has brought down his shoulders so much, but finds herself doubting it. it is something else at work, something more. ] Would you say that anything of note has happened during this time? Has a great deal happened, for good or ill? [ she knows how it is, of course, when you've been in a place like this for months - how fighting, how sorrow, how atrocities can become almost routine. but any information he gives will be worth noting. ]

[ Oh, she looks pretty! And Cid's feeling alright after the coma to be adventurous and talk to people. Plus, his mom's not in the room. So he's free! ]

[ it concerns her to see a child trapped here - would concern her, even if it was a safer place to be held. but she smiles, small and warm, and adjusts the camera to give a better view of said dog. ]

Her name is Sahar.

He's so big! I want to ride him. [ Cid's focused on other things--not the horror, not the fright of the ship. But the pretty lady and her dog, and if you look closely he's bunching his hands up, excited. ] Sahar is a funny name.

[ as far as Zelda's concerned, that's something to be thankful for. let them be cautious, yes, and aware of danger. but let them have joy, and security. these things are just as important. ]

Well, my lord, you are small, so perhaps you might. She will grow bigger, however, given time. [ her smile softens. ] Someone very dear to me named her. In his language, Sahar means 'dawn'.
