Hello. My name is Azari, if we haven't met before.

I was wondering if anyone on the ship would be able to race in one of the jungle levels in the oxygen garden. I run through there a lot, but it's more fun if you've got someone to race.

[ pause, while he makes sure his thoughts are straight. ] I'm looking specifically for people with somewhat enhanced speed and agility, since I'm pretty sure that through that underbrush, I could beat any average human that wanted to try. ...Not to say that I won't race you if you're an average human, but it probably won't be much of a race. That's all.

Yes, I am. It's not over-the-top or anything, but from what I can tell, normal people aren't as fast or agile as I am.

Also I have lightning powers.

Why would you advertise it?

Well, I didn't think I was advertising it so much as acknowledging it? It wouldn't be a challenge for me if I were racing an average person, and it wouldn't be fair for them.

I'm doing what I think is right. I've been doing it for years, though I guess it's probably different cleaning up the aftermath of an almost-successful robotic world takeover. Still, it's who I am, what I'm meant to do.

[ considers this ] I'm not sure. Francis can pretty much keep up with us in the field, and he hasn't got any powers or anything, but I don't usually go all-out either.

I had power armor, before I was brought here. Don't know what they did with it, because it wasn't in my locker when I arrived, but you know. Living life wearing a few hundred pounds of metal is kind of an all-the-time workout.

Well, like... I've got a base set of cat-like abilities. Enhanced speed, agility, senses. And then electricity powers. Though it's more like controlled lightning, probably, my mom had weather powers, so... [ shrug ]

[ There's something of a shacked silence on the other end, and he lets out a small scoffing noise as he tries to work out what exactly he just heard. ]

Uh, well... the electricity thing is because my mom was a mutant, but it wasn't from genetic engineering or anything. But my father was blessed by a panther spirit. That's where I get everything else.

Well, anyone whose baseline is noticeably higher than an average person, probably. I'm not too much faster than a trained runner, as far as I know.

I'm not enhanced, but I think I'm pretty quick. And I'm in the gardens a lot, so if you want to race, I'll race you.

I'm okay with that. You tend to go faster when you're trying to beat someone, anyway, so at least it'll be good exercise.

I haven't raced anyone in a long time, though. How do we do it?

Meet up in the oxygen gardens, I guess. I generally do a full loop.

I do my best to not destroy any of the plants. I can't exactly go careening through the hallways. And anyway, grass is actually surprisingly resilient.

Anyway, I tend to be up in the trees for a good chunk of my run.

Yeah. Plus it's a lot more like where I grew up than metal hallways. [ Azari, you grew up in a dome on a crashed helicarrier in the ARCTIC. To be fair, though, it was pretty lush. ]

I have no idea what a sugar glider is. It's probably more like a cat than anything, though a monkey would probably also be similar since a human's closer in body to a monkey than a panther.
