Welcome to the Tranquility.

I won't be the first or the last to say so. Now what you've no doubt already discovered is that this place is hardly tranquil. If you've read anonymous' message - as you should have - it's clear that we've all been going through a lot since we got here. I'll sum it up for you in case you're confused.

First of all there's Smiley, a semi-benevolent something that none of us have been able to track down who identifies himself by manner of his calling card, a red smile, and on occasion painted words left behind on walls. Irregardless of what people tell you, Smiley has yet to actually cause any of us harm.

Since my arrival here, six months ago now, we've experienced fear gas, a virus that struck down nearly everyone on board, stopping at an outpost where the occupants wanted nothing less than to brainwash all of us, and been immersed in a foglike spirit world eager to break us. Problems in engineering recently lead to the power going out and life support being dropped to minimum - if that happens again, people are expected to report to the Oxygen Gardens without delay, so I suggest you learn your way there.

This isn't a science fiction movie, so not everything here moves from one action or horror scene to another. You'll find that most of your existence here is just living, the same way it would be back at home, and that's probably the hardest thing; waiting for something to happen or not happen. It also means that we all of us depend explicitly on each other.

To that end, please allow me to introduce you to a new concept.

Your Tranquility, Your Community

Outside of the volunteer crew - which I urge you to join if you have even the slightest skill or want to learn to do something useful with your time - we have a community that provides an extensive support structure. Everyone seems to be doing something to try and make life easier for everyone else, whether it's group cook-outs in the kitchens or offering to mend clothes or teach people to shoot. There's clubs to play games, chess, and routine meetings of survival training, space chapel--pretty sure there's even someone around here proposed weekly concerts, and we used to have a movie night, for God's sake. If that's gone underground, I wanna know about it.

Now I'm sure I'm not the only one on board who's tired of repeating these invitations. That's why in the interests of Your Tranquility, Your Community, I've put up an electronic pinboard for people to leave their own advertisements, put up sign ups, fliers for one day events, anything you like. If you've got a private job and you're looking for a specific skill, post it here. If you've got something you want to trade, if you run a club, if you're just looking for someone to talk to, this is your place for communicating it with the community without having to repeat yourself endlessly on the network.

You don't need my permission to use the pinboard, it's for the community to use as it will, and I hope you do.

Any leads on what happened to Howard Stark. A reassuring message to the network ensuring people that everything's being done that can be is long overdue right now.

I dug around in the comms and found this. It's where we discussed schools before, only the whole thing collapsed.

Most irritating thing is I knew it was gonna happen, too.

You might get some ideas in there about things you'd like to see.

I'll take notes and come up with some ideas, if that's okay. [She is very serious about this school idea now, and will be a little businesslady with it.]

Big ideas usually fall apart in big groups. It's terrible when it happens, especially when they're good ideas that will help everyone. But sometimes you get lucky and one person gets everyone to take notice and listen. I'm sure you can be that person, if we try again.

Don't need my permission. [ A smile. ] Look, even if I'm the one person left on this ship who thinks that we should be making long term plans, I'm going to be here to help get things like this through. I'm gonna go have a look for that possible classroom, then you'll at least have something physical to get started with, alright?

Maybe, if there's anything you need, you could ask me instead? I have my sister, and a chance to do what I'm good at here. I don't need much more than that.

It was my job, and it's still my responsibility. Maybe I don't have to, but I owe it to myself as much as to anyone else. Keeps me from going off the deep end.

And I'll do that. It must be nice to have your sister here. Uh... What're your names?

I'm Primrose Everdeen. My sister's name is Katniss. And it is good to have her here. There's nothing more important than family, is there?

[She talks a good game but really she'd be scared to death if she was here without her sister. Katniss serves as a good anchor to keep fear at bay.]

Family's always important. My brother Peter's here, too.

One of my new friends here is a nurse named Peter. He's the one I'm hoping to be able to work with if I'm allowed to be a student nurse. [She wonders if it's the same one. He was looking for his brother on that first day, maybe this is him.]
