[ Hooray for... quiet and controlled network announcement-making. It is the way of the future. John clears his throat and gets this business nipped in the bud. ]

Looks like Sherlock Holmes has left the Tranquility. That's zero-zero-seven, one-zero-two, not the other... two of them. Not that I'm aware of, at least. If there are more running around that I've not heard from yet, now's a good opportunity to speak up.

[ And a very brief pause. ] I'm sure he'd have left behind a legacy of unflattering deductions about everyone if he'd had the time. Might be just as well that he never got around to it.

That's right. The only other John Watson I know of was one of the first people aboard. I came in with the 007s.

I have not counted, myself. I ask because I have been recently assigned to the medical division, and was told it was one of you I should report to.

I see. Are you a doctor yourself?

No.

[ Honesty is always easiest. ]

It is hard to explain, the short version is I have a good grounding in first aid and emergency medical skills that are entirely practical. And I am not what you would call squeamish.

I'm not in charge of the facilities or anything, but I expect "not squeamish" is one of the better qualities we could hope for in a volunteering set of hands. Practical experience is even better.

I've been around enough enough plague victims to be inured to such things. A weak stomach doesn't get you far in those situations.

Really doesn't. I think the sickbay would be happy to have you on board. What's your name?

[ He likes his formalities. ]

[ Which is clearly not a name, but it's what he goes by normally. What can you do? ]

Nice meeting you, Red. It's very good of you to be volunteering. I'm happy to keep an eye open for you in medbay and try to show you the rounds, as much as I can.

[ Volunteering? Well... he supposes he did ask for what position would work best, so he sort of volunteered. Just not directly to medbay. ]

That would be beneficial. Thank you. Is there a formal rota of any sort?

[ Commandeering volunteers. Not a thing he planned, whoops. ]

There ought to be one, somewhere. Haven't gotten a chance to see what's changed since I turned back up here.

[ Only way to get anything done, to be honest. ]

Perhaps I will discover one once I join you formally. I find I have a great deal of free time in this place, so I hardly anticipate an issue.

There is a lot of time to spare out here, seems like. It's always good to see someone wanting useful things to do with themselves while they've got it.
