"Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can't see where it keeps its brain."
[Harvey's got his mask in his hands, turning it over. He's standing outside his door in 011 as he does so. It's clear that the aforementioned quote from Harry Potter is in relation to the eerily nondescript mask in his hands. He appears calm and collected, though really - the featureless mask seems... angry, in a way. He tried binning it, it didn't work. It came back stuck to his door. Which is why he is choosing to make this transmission, using the network for the first time.]
Someone went a bit happy with the paper mache and put some witchery on it. If anybody's found a way to get rid of it permanently, let me know. That kind of information should be shared because I don't know about you, but I don't want to see this thing again. I know I'm not alone in that.
[Tooootally ignoring the fact that it gives him the creeps, a bit. He hasn't even put it on, so he sticks it back on his door before turning off the transmission.]

[internally he is flailing because spock!!!!! spock replied to him!!!]
But thank you for that useful piece of information.

I fail to discern the relevancy of a figurative brain in this context.

[he has to keep reminding himself that this is a vulcan, a logical one by the name of spock. if it's not logical, it won't make sense.]

Disregarding the unwise nature of presenting theory without fact- my opinion would be that the masks originate from our primary continuums, and are meant to serve a psychological function to individual passengers.

[He prevents himself from saying "as always" at the end, remembering that he and Spock technically haven't met yet so he's just gonna do the whole song and dance of introductions.]
I'll keep that in mind Mister...?
[harvey knows spock's rank and everything, this is almost painful]

The title is unnecessary. Regardless of rank in my primary continuum, the Tranquility operates in a command roster of it's own design. [ there's a pause, just long enough for his head to cant faintly to one side. consideration. ]
You stated that you have made attempt to destroy the mask prior to your broadcast?

[it's said a lot more firmly than he intended but he was reassuring himself as much as he was telling it to spock.]

Perhaps there is someone you may give it to?
