Hello, Tranquility. [ Carolyn looks a little rougher this jump, with a healing gash on her temple and uneven hair. Still, she's giving the camera a slight smile. ] This is Carolyn Fry.

Some of you may recall that Ellen Ripley and I were holding space training classes. I understand people are still recovering from our most recent event, but I'm going to continue with them this month. A recording of the last session and any future sessions can be found in the following link. [ Here. ] If you can't show up for any reason, I'd strongly suggest looking these over.

This session will be held in the shuttle bay, like last time, and focus on using the decontamination chambers, getting in and out of a space suit correctly, and a review on shuttles. This is open to everyone and I highly recommend going if you've never been to space before. Some of us have, and we know what we're doing. If you have any questions now, feel free to ask. If you have any suggestions for things to cover in the future, I'll take those, too.

[ She pauses, then switches gears. ]

On a personal note, I'm looking for someone who can cut my hair. ... Thanks.

((ooc: Probably not going to put up a log for this session of space training since people are still backtagging the jump and the SH plot, unless a lot of people want me to. Feel free to handwave that your character showed up though!))

I presume your sessions have proved successful thus far?

They have been.

They'd be more successful if more people showed up -- if the people announcing things would point them this way.

Perhaps a notification upon emergence from the gravitation chamber- for new arrivals, would be sufficient encouragement?

Glad to hear you're still around, Fry. Since you're still at it, have you considered trying to program a training demonstration into the ship's holodecks?

The holodecks aren't interactive in that sort of way. I like giving them hands-on experience.

You've got a point there. I'd just been thinking making sure they know the buttons before getting in the real thing -- but I suppose if they aren't getting right into taking off, that doesn't make much difference.

I'm not teaching all of them how to fly right off the bat. Anyone who's interested, sure. But it's mostly getting in, out, strapping in correctly -- things we might not have time to cover if we're in a situation where we need to get out and get out fast.

Might have to add a section about how to survive if the ship decides to make everyone hallucinate being back home. That's a lesson for the ages.

That wasn't the ship. Something called Silent Hill, apparently -- and out of my area of experience until recently.

Which was brought here by one of us, if I'm remembering correctly. [He laughs hoarsely.] I thought I was just being cynical when I said other people were the biggest threats to our survival.

Space training, huh. [ Don't mind him, he's just... still amused by this whole mess. Give him a few days, 'spaceship' won't sound as 'corny science-fiction' to him then. ]

I haven't found a better name yet -- but yes.

And it's safe to assume that 'how to get back to Earth' isn't in the curriculum. [ Right? ]
