[ The sight of the science department behind Betty whenever she posts is likely a familiar one by now, though this time there’s no dinosaur. There is, however, Dr. Connors. Less of a surprise, perhaps, despite his relatively short tenure so far upon the ship. The broadcast is a little more structured than not, the brief silence before any actual speech suggesting the preparation of some kind of presentation.
Betty holds up a vial filled with blue liquid so that the camera can get a clear shot. To anyone who’s paid attention the past several jumps, it’s very obviously the same fluid that’s within the gravity couches. ]
Some of you may have noticed that I was taking samples of the gravity couch fluid this most recent jump.
[ Curt cuts in at this point, raising his hand once to adjust his glasses on the bridge of his nose. ]
You’ll be glad to know it doesn’t carry anything harmful, I’m sure, [ he says, with a half-smile. ] We’ve managed to figure out that it actually provides nutrients to the body, as well as various healing agents.
[ There’s a little jiggle of the vial from Betty, the liquid sloshing about inside. ]
We’re still working out how, exactly, but it does answer why everyone has been so healthy despite a general lack of a balanced diet [ Tony, she means you ] and why surface injuries have been healing so quickly.
[ A beat passes before Connors speaks again, brow creasing as he glances at the vial that Betty holds. ] Unfortunately, it doesn’t explain anything about the stasis sickness that occurred previously, but — barring a recurrence — it should only be beneficial. As it stands, we’d be happy to field any further questions. Hopefully we’ll be able to answer them.
[ ooc; blue is curt, green is betty! tag one or both! :D ]

[ a pause ]
Meant to look into it a bit more myself, but got sidetracked with a few things.
. . .
A lot of things, actually.

I'll be honest -- other than wanting to make sure it wasn't contaminated again, I was looking into it off of someone else's theory.

[ scientists. they're always interesting. even when they turn out to be half-mad doctors wanting to create an entire race of killer aliens, no one can ever say they're boring ]
