[Which she's fine with. She always seems to manage, make it through. But now with Bill being as brainwashed as he is, and everything completely fucked, it's taken a lot out of her.]

Guess I'm just wonderin' how y'all cope with knowin' that there's some pretty heavy shit goin' on back home, and there's nothin' you can do about it.

[She chews on her lip for a moment.] I think it's the not knowin' that's botherin' me the most. I ain't helpless. Best part'a bein' a vampire is you can really fuck some things up, but what do you do when another vampire-- who is supposed to be dead [thank you, Eric]-- is three thousand years old and about to attack like an entire race of-- well whatever fairies are? Not to mention someone close to you.

[Tate hasn't been here for a while because he just hasn't headed to this end of the ship. there's been too much going on elsewhere that's kept his attention. he didn't miss the fact that Jessica had been keeping to herself, just like he didn't miss the fact that Hayley had taken to spending her time in Engineering.

he lingers near the door, looking up at a massively large tree with a vine strangling it's trunk, waiting for the vampire to arrive.]

[It didn't take long for her to get ready, being dead and on a spaceship. In a blur, she appears before him, wearing the sundress she originally appeared on the ship in with her hair up. She gives an almost shy smile.]

[he grins]

I'm never going to get used to that. [he lies, because he already has.]

Oh. I could stop. I don't always do it, just the easiest way to get 'round. [She shrugs, a little bashful.]

Hey, if you can do it why not. [he grins and shrugs, then starts walking through the garden.]

[She walks with him.]

That's not exactly the best logic with a vampire, Tate.

I'm pretty sure logic and this ship don't go hand in hand.

[That makes her laugh.]

[he shrugs, reaches up and pulls a leaf off one of the trees as they pass it. he glances sideways at her.]

You wanna talk about it? Whatever happened?

[She tilts her had back and looks at him.]

Where should I even start? About how I skrewed things up with someone back home or the fact that my ex wanted me to have me erase my existence and his best friend's from his mind. Oh, and he moved to Alaska. Plus there was getting kidnapped by a bunch'a rednecks and silvered to the floor. And that's not even countin' the shit with the American Vampire League.

[She absently kicks at the dirt.]

[he doesn't understand half of what she's talking about, but his gaze lingers between her and where he's walking, showing her that even if he doesn't understand, he's listening.]

You're in the middle of all that?

[She sighs, closing her eyes for a moment to calm down.]

Hey. [he frowns and reaches over, rubbing his hand against the back of her arm soothingly.]

[She turns to look at him and sighs.] It's fine. Ain't anything I can do here anyway.

You can still be a badass vampire who can kick some ass.

[that's something right? huh? he smiles at her, stepping closer to bump his shoulder against hers.]

[She lets out a small laugh and brushes red hair back.]

Yeah, I still got that. [She nudges him back.]
