[Cameron doesn't appear distressed at all. She considered that she should, but it's too late to fix it now, the device is on. Even though people take distress more seriously if you're injured, she doesn't want to cut up her face just to get a quick answer.

Her voice isn't monotone, but it's abnormally mellow considering what she has to say.]

Hello. I'm looking for my brother. I think he came through here, and I need to find him. He could be in very grave danger.

His name is John. He is five feet, ten inches tall, and he has short brown hair. [A pause, while she considers the likelihood that Sarah is here, too. If she is, she'll be the one people will have noticed; she's louder.] My mother may be with him. Her name is Sarah.

[Cameron thinks about that, and then smiles a little with a definitive nod.]

Yes. A different sort of difficult.

John will be harder to keep an eye on here. He won't be thinking about Skynet.

You don't know what he's thinking. What he's feeling.

[It had been their life long before she had ever showed up.]

I know that he's lonely. And that without Skynet, he'll hope for a normal life.

[That is something that no mother wants to hear, but she knows that given their futures...]

And he knows that just like you have arrived, that anyone, or anything, may arrive.

But he's glad that I arrived.

[And she knows Sarah isn't.]

Did he say that.

[And no, no she is not.]

He was happy to see me. I could tell from his physiological responses.

[And the award for "most awkward way to say 'he smiled'" goes to...]

And you're still you?

[Not human. Machine. Unfeeling.]

Yes. I'm still me.

[Though she actually ran a diagnostic before she answered that question...]

Are you still cancer free?

[Cameron thinks you're sick.

She hadn't answered John though back at home when he had asked that, and he couldn't tell that she'd been losing weight.]

We aren't talking about that.

There are doctors here. Maybe they could help. It won't change the timeline at home, but it could keep you from getting sick here. Isn't that good?

[She knew that. Knew that, and didn't want to talk about it with her- or rather it.]

Protect John. That's why you said you were here.

[Even if Cameron had never truly answered the why.]

It is why I'm here. But you make my job easier. Keeping you alive helps keep John alive.

Keeping me alive is my business. Not yours.

[Cameron gives her that vaguely startled, confused look that Sarah probably knows so well.]

It would be bad if you died here. [That's all.]

I'm aware.

[At home, she would have tried to keep her promise, to do what she could before things... became too bad. Here? Here it is harder.]

Sarah?

[She sounds human, for one of those uncomfortable split seconds when no one knows if it's her programming or not.]

What?

[Giving Cameron a look.]

What is John going to do if you get sick?

[She hasn't told Sarah about her glitch. That would be suicide. But she knows Sarah doesn't trust her anyway, so she doesn't really need to. Either way, John is going to be all alone without them.]

John's in the future.

[At home, anyway. Here? She will plan on getting him home before it becomes too apparent.]

Not here. Here, he'd be alone. Except for me.

[And Cameron has said before that isn't a good thing. She can't be trusted; she knows that.]

One of the many reasons to try to find a way home, sooner rather than later.

If this is an alternate dimension, then we are at home. Life is continuing there with separate versions of us.

If. [Emphasis on that word.] And if it is not.

John hasn't decided what to do yet. Neither have I. I don't know what the best course of action is.
