voice;
[ she should probably buck up and make this a video post, she knows that. but it's easier to just talk into the microphone, not worry about her expression, just the tone of her voice. ]
For those that knew him, Charles Xavier is gone. The one that arrived in the seventh jump, um, oh-oh-seven, one-four-seven. I've been trying to get in contact with him for a little while now, over the past few weeks, but today the messages started bouncing back, saying the number doesn't exist. That means that's it, right?
[ there's too many possibilities, too many things could have happened, and none of them are any better or less terrifying than the last. she figured he was busy in the labs all this time, needed time alone after Erik left, but who knows? maybe he'd been lost. and she didn't do anything, she didn't look. not beyond the 'safe' parts of the ship. he could be dead, lost his communicator along the way. the weight of the things she doesn't know is making her chest feel tight all over again. ]
We should-
I just know, I know Charles wouldn't have gone wandering around the off-limit parts of the ship, especially by himself. He's smarter than that. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that we might need to look for a body. Not! Not that I think someone hurt him, I just- something must have happened, some kind of accident. Or- I dunno.
I have no idea where to look. Or who should even be looking, I don't want to put that responsibility on anyone, I'm not expecting anyone to or anything. I'm just trying to figure out how to handle this. [ she's starting to sound detached, nothing like her usual tone. her eyes blur. ]
If somebody could just come with me for one more look around the ship, I'd appreciate it a lot.

so she's quick to answer the door, blue under her Tranquility jumpsuit, a weird kind of smile pulling at the corners of her mouth. what do I do? ]
Hey. Um. [ she blinks, tries to shake off her nerves but it's not happening ] Did you wanna come in? Or walk around. I don't really have a plan or anything...
[action!!!]
We'll walk around. This ship cocks everything up, it's impossible to do any really useful magic when it comes to finding people--but walking around would help, anyway.
He was one of the science-y ones, wasn't he? So we'll start there. [And he drops his arm, with a quick little smile.] Come on. You're in luck, I always have a plan.

she nods, steps into the hallway a little more and lets her door slide shut behind her. ]
Let's check the labs then, yeah. He worked on the second floor, I think. Maybe the third.

Instead, he taps his wand against the side of his leg, both a thoughtful and nervous sort of gesture.]
What did he do in the labs? I mean, it wasn't anything that could have ended badly, could it? [He thinks of those mad weird dog beasts that were all over the corridors, and pulls a little face.]

Charles was a geneticist, so. I doubt it was that, we probably would have heard if there was a mishap with something to do with those things they found in the maze or whatever. [ she chews her lip for a second ] I remember that much. They had, um... DNA, or whatever, from those monsters in the maze. I think they were looking into that.

'Cos they might have been human once. Yeah, I remember hearing about that as well. [A little pause; he's not good at Serious Discussions, it'd be better if there were something to actually do instead of just walk to an empty lab.] He's, er. Your brother, isn't he?

It's more 'related-but-wish-we-weren't', in my case. One brother, if you can call him that, and I very much wish someone would take him off my hands. [Which might be the wrong sort of joke to make at someone whose brother has in fact disappeared but whatever.] Was it just you two or are there more siblings-by-choice?
