[ Her device lights up, which Katniss guesses means someone's trying to contact her. Having very little to do in the medbay except sitting around, she's been trying to learn its functions -- she takes a look at Wesley's message, and while the no killing each other part some time ago would've caught her attention, made her think, no, i'm done killing people, she just ignores it completely now. He doesn't know.

She settles for voice, because typing takes longer. Flatly, ]

[ There's silence, and her fingers twitch on the communicator, even though she's ... seemingly otherwise unaffected. Raven hasn't killed anybody. Well, Katniss has. Tributes in the arena. Everyone who died when her home burned to the ground, whose bodies she's stepped over. Cinna. Every rebel who's died in the war. She killed all of them. ]

[ To both being in the medbay and that they've managed to patch her up. It's strange to hear her own voice through the device, as if she's speaking to herself -- or a jabberjay -- but she's trying to think of Raven as just ... any other person. She's not going to touch the idea that they're apparently identical. Not yet. ]

He thought I was you. You must mean a lot to him.

[ Back to the previous subject ... because the real reason she's talking to Raven right now is because she's the sister of the man who saved her life, and in some way, the reason she's alive. Despite what Charles might claim, she really doesn't think he would've helped her if she didn't happen to have Raven's face. ]

It might not, however, mean she won't keep the words in mind. Charles saved her life because Raven is his sister -- she knows that the bond between siblings is a strong one, that next to nothing can damage it beyond repair, so that is entirely different. But if Wesley, who built his opinion of her from nothing, thinks she's trustworthy, then perhaps she's worth giving the benefit of the doubt. Even though Katniss always expects the worst from people. ]

Well, yeah. Charles has always looked out for me, and I look out for him too.

[ but that's- she's kind of curious why she's focusing on that, her relationship with her brother. it's not just idle conversation, seeing as she gave her the chance to talk about something else, so there's purpose to it. there has to be. ]

He's- like that though, you know. Always looking out for people. He wants what's best for the whole world. [ she shouldn't sound weirdly put-off by that. maybe it's just because she's thinking about how things were back home, all that time ago. how much it stung, the idea of Charles moving on from 'the world' meaning just them, to... the literal world, everyone in it, human and mutant alike. it left her feeling a little lost, back then. bitter. ] Like, there are those people that say they 'want world peace', and then there's Charles Xavier, the man who is actually going to do whatever it takes to make it a reality. Basically, he's crazy. [ but now she sounds light again. not cheerful, but that edge is gone ]
