[ Theon swallows hard, because this isn't how he expected their reunion to ever go. He'd imagined swords and humility, Robb's jaw set proud and Theon forcing him to take a knee and accept him as the new ruler of Winterfell. Or — in his nightmares, Robb took his head for a traitor without a second thought, his father's blade swift on Theon's neck, as he'd always known it would be. ]

Things are strange, here, but this way of speaking to a man is strangest of them all.

[ and unlike theon, robb is blessed with ignorance. the ignorance of not knowing, of coming from a time when all is still golden, before things have fallen to ruin. and theon greyjoy is still a dear friend, still robb's hand, still close as brother.

the things robb doesn't know, they are many and vast. and may lead him to a bad end, even here. ]

There are easier ways, if you wish for me to seek you out. But managing the devices is someting you grow accustomed to. I have learned.
